Another Fighter Leaves TMT PROMOTIONS! Neno Rodriquez.

he left toprank to go with TMT and was upset TMT couldnt get him any fights. He was a rising star fighting 4 times a year and went and in 3 years only had 2 fights.

some tweets he had up that suggest he was fed up aswell.

You're late Mikey. This was posted yesterday.

Super featherweight contender Saul "Neno" Rodriguez Jr. (21-0-1) has advised BoxingScene.com that he has parted ways with Mayweather Promotions and is now a promotional free agent. The 25-year-old said that he left on amiable terms.

Starting to see that folks misunderstand the situation

... or simply are willfully ignorant to what it is. There's a reason why Badou Jack is thriving under Floyd, and there's a reason why others dont. And he's not the only one either.

Showtime/CBS will love Floyd for as long as Stephen Espinoza and Les Moonves are involved in the company, but Showtime isn't simply Floyd's fiefdom (and Floyd's instinct seems to not want it to be his fiefdom either).

Floyd's name opens up the door, but it's likely going to be for a tough fight, and you're going to have to win and perform well to build on the opportunity from there on. Ronald Gavril finally got his shot, as did Michael Hunter (both were in tough, but they didn't do anything to embarrass themselves in defeat, leaving things clear to build back for another shot).

Andrew Tabiti (200), 'Memphis' Miller (135), Lionel (168) Thompson, and J'Leon Love are the next batch in the que.

Gervonta Davis happily got through the door that Floyd opened up, and performed well when given the opportunity; once the fights get hard (Floyd seems to think that a focused Davis is the goods, so he's not tripping), the issues start coming up with Floyd.

Mickey Bey loses a tough fight, Floyd is able to get him another opportunity (in a tough fight) and Bey balks at the money not being what he felt was good enough (don't quote me but Bey may have walked away from something like $500k+); he likely didn't expect two years, but opportunity comes when it comes.

Saul Rodriguez signs with Floyd, and his first fight under the banner is a rough scrap where he gets dropped and barely gets by with a split decision. The fight confirms his as a viable fringe title contender, but note how the father/son team seemed to have pumped the breaks (Davis, Machado, Berchelt, and Loma all at the weight has a way of doing that).

Maybe Floyd doesn't know better, he's not a promoter that gives a **** about building up a big run of wins, as crazy as that sounds. He's about spotting talent, moving that talent along in good fights, and then making the run when he feels that you're ready for the shot and he can open the door.

Folks forget that Jessie Vargas was the first pup that Floyd brought through; say what you want about Vargas' talent, Floyd brought him along almost entirely on solid/good fights after maybe the first 5 testers. Floyd's sway as a promoter wasn't what it was now, but he basically had Vargas ready to become a mandatory before Vargas jumped to Top Rank.

Your right bro. Floyd just isn't a good promoter and he just doesn't have the dates for his fighters. That is why only Badou Jack is happy.

Mickey Bey, Saul Rodriguez, Lionel Thompson, Ashley Theophane all left and Tank would be gone if Floyd would accept his request for his release. Josue Vargas and Rolando Romero are begging for their release too. Floyd had Tabiti shelved too until last year after he had a disagreement about his trainer.

Floyd just doesn't have the dates. Showtime just won't open their doors to him. Why do you think they have to put on those shiet shows at some off strip casino called Sam's Town or something? His prospects only fight 2-3 times a year when if they were with PBC or Top Rank or GBP they would be getting 6 fights a year so they could develop. That is why these guys are all pissed. Floyd has most of his roster on the shelf

Saul Rodriguez, Mickey Bey, Savanah Marshall and Josue Vargas have all been given their releases recently (no idea who Rolando Romero is, tbh); we'll see how that goes for them.

The Sam's Town shows, like any other smaller promoter, gives Floyd's company a way to keep his guys active (with money likely coming from Sam's, tbh) in between the opportunities with Showtime and PBC.

No idea what the details of the situation with Tabiti were, but Tabiti is now back on track, got another big win, and is positioned for his title shot in 1-2 fights (timing is what it is, but the Usyk-Gassiev winner, barring injury and if they stay at 200lbs, would be looking for a big fight and the only real options would be Bellew, Tabiti, or Ledbedev in Russia).

See you are wrong again. A company like GBP has a deal with ESPN. It is a time buy but there guys get TV exposure and GBP can make money back by selling commercials and the fighters can get sponsors because they are on tv. Have you seen the Sams Town thing? Tickets are 10 and 30 dollars and the ballroom holds like 500 people. What is Sams Town giving TMT? $5,000 max?

Floyd doesn't have a tv deal. That is why all his guys want to leave. U mentioned 5 guys who have been given their release plus you forget the ones I mentioned Ashley Theophane, Lionel Thompson plus the ones that want a release but Floyd won't give him one like Tank Davis. So out of about 25 fighters a third have been granted the release they asked for or still want one.

Only guys like Badou Jack, Ronald Gavril and maybe a Memphis Miller who is not going anywhere are happy with the promotion. What does that tell you about MP's ability as a promoter. Sounds like the worse place to go for an American fighter
