Lol! Ward was never an option at 168 plus he offered a high risk with little money.

I seriously doubt he'll retire unless he loses or something and looks bad

He's should but he won't he will milk being the bigger guy and with power which won't do so much damage to 168, or it won't have the same effect...like.floyd and Manny he will NEVER BE considered a legend until he's 2 or 3 times with division champ.

Some fighters stay put to prove their greatness.

I’d rather a gu dominate his weightclass with an iron fist than see him move up and fight an inferior fighter a class up just to be a “multiple weight class champion.”

In this day and age, everyone gets a strap. Keeping it might be more impressive.

Being the undisputed MW king is awesome. Some weight classes are also worth staying in due to history and proximity to talent coming to you.

Give me a long period of dominance over a ******ed fight like Pac-Marg. It’s more common to see a guy move up and fight a weak champ for the title than it is to see lineal vs lineal.

Anyway...moving up or staying put isnt always better than the other.

I don't see it happening. He's already starting to slow down and there are some decent money fights to be made at 160 before he hangs them up

Like it or not he’s in the sport for money, nowhere does he make the same money he makes against Clenelo, what motivates him afterwards ?

Unifying the division and extending the MW defense record.

I thought he would after a fight with Saunders next for all the belts but now that he lost the IBF I guess he could hang around and try to get it back but I could see him going over to the UK for a Groves fight if he wins that 168 tournament. I suspect that would do some big numbers over there and make some good money for both guys but maybe I'm overestimating the fanbase Groves has IDK.

Exactly. I can't imagine he'd be too happy fighting for 2 -3 million against tough guys like Charlo after making about 25 against Canelo. I suspect a 3rd fight will happen if its remotely close in September.

GGG will move up once Canelo beats him. his excuse will be that he's too big for 160 and can't make the weight healthy.
