That's what you think. You might be right, but it's what you THINK.

What I do know, is that the WBA, not Hearn, took concrete steps to derail Joshua-Wilder.

The WBA forced the issue here, not even by enforcing their own rules (Super champions not forced to fight mandatories, that's for the Regular title holder).

Come on man...read between the lines. Hearn has been throwing this WBA-Povetkin thing out there since a Wilder fight was mentioned. He never once questioned why his WBA Super Champion was being forced to fight a mandatory, when a guy like Keith Thurman hasn't fought in a year-and-a-half, and is still holding on to his Super title.

You can give Hearn a pass if you want, but this is obviously his doing.

I don't think they can strip Anthony Joshua, and even if the WBA did I remember when Anthony was talking about vacating the IBF instead of facing Kubrat Pulev in order to honor a rematch clause vs. Klitschko -- sounds dignified HOWEVER they knew that the IBF would threaten to strip Joshua BEFORE they signed a back to back fight with old Wladimir and had other mandatories in line.

So I say all that to say this : This fight with Deontay Wilder brings in MORE MONEY than a fight with old washed Klitshcko and is for the UNDISPUTED HW title but for some reason Hearns and Mismatchroom do not treat it with the same regard...I wonder why?

Wilder vs Joshua was never going to happen next. Hearn all but said he wanted Joshua to fight Povetkin in the fall because Wembley wasn't available until early 2019 which is where he wants to stage the Wilder bout. Also, since someone mentioned it, Wilder hasn't signed anything. His team just said they returned the contract with a couple of modifications. I fully expect Hearn to do what he did with Klitschko; set the Povetkin fight then formally announce the bout once Joshua beats Povtekin, which I expect he will.

If Joshua loses to Povetkin, his stock will plummet and the Wilder fight will lose a lot of interest. Which means Wilder stands to lose a lot of money if Joshua loses to Povetkin. He can kiss that $15M+ payday goodbye, go back to his $2M purses to fight no-hopers.

This actually plays into Haymon’s plan. They know that win or lose if AJ fights Pov, he’s going to get busted up. If Pov wins, Haymon will offer the same $50 million to Pov to come to the US. If AJ wins, he will take the $50 million to come to the US. There are 2 promoters that Hearn can’t outbid:
