Either that or they’re his fairy godmother outbidding his promotors to stage the fight in his home country (something even his promoters probably wouldn’t do)

They must be, not sure if they would even make their monies back promoting this fight. Sauerland promotions must be asking Pulev questions lol.

The thought did cross my mind. It's not an enviable situation for any fighter really and people on here were definitely pretty harsh on Whyte (as usual)

          "9.D. Purse Bid
The two highest ranked available contenders in an eliminator and those contenders
ordered to participate in a box off have the obligation to proceed to a purse bid if so ordered
by the President. All of the procedures set forth in Rule 10 will govern the purse bid with
the exception of §10B, “Minimum bids” and ¶10E, “Disbursement of Proceeds”.
Proceeds of the purse bid for elimination bouts or box offs will be distributed as
          follows:

          a. Boxer ranked #1 v. Boxer ranked #2
          50% to each contestant
          b. Boxer ranked #1 or #2 v. any other boxer
75% to boxer #1 or #2 and 25% to other contestant
          c. Boxers ranked #3 or below v. boxer ranked #3 or below
60% to higher ranked boxer and 40% to lower ranked boxer"
Wierd rules.. #1 vs 2# is 50/50. Yet, whyte wasn't number 2? So ibf orders a purse bid to face whyte? im guessing at that time whyte was ranked 3rd... so pulev gets 75%..i get it.. but when whyte declines an miller is moved to number 3? For the same split.. Well who in the **** is number 2? Because the purse splits for whyte an miller were both 75/25..

It’s not the best situation but miller is taking home a career high payday I’m not sure that was the case for Whyte

Good point. Whyte had lucrative alternative options as the Parker fight shows.

I like miller, he doesn't seem to be rated very highly and a lot is said about his conditioning here, but there's not many big guys who can go 12 rounds at his size without showing serious signs of gassing. As he did in his last fight. He is definitely a contender.

He's a good talker too. The US Whyte, I'd like to see him Vs Dillian at some point, think it would be great both pre fight and in the ring.

Maybe if he takes this fight it could still wind up in the US. Hearn was suggesting that epic were amenable to staging it there, revenues would go some way towards the purse bid extravagance, although Pulev is surely giving them back most of his end?

The Parker fight is on ppv too so he’ll defuniteky make a nice bit of change out of that.

As for miller I do enjoy his fights and in today’s landscape he is a world level fighter. Given the quality of the two champions I don’t see him winning a belt any time soon though.

I’m not sure if pulev is giving them back anything I mean officially he’s not their fighter unless there’s some under the table deal between the two parties
