'superfight' gets thrown about too easily...

theres very few potential match ups if at all these days that fit that criteria. seems as if every world level fight is deemed to be some huge event that needs years to build up, promoters have pulled the wool other peoples eyes good and proper, and now weve got the drones on here reciting their bull****.

spence and crawford have 1 win between them, thats not a super fight. And before people start shouting and swearing, thats the truth of it whatever way you dice it. However good you think they are in the eye test, thats the type of fight they need to be taking now to prove themselves. Not wasting years of their prime building it.

Even joshua v wilder isnt really that huge a fight in the scheme of things, . you arent talking mayweather v de la hoya here. these are guys who at most have 1 good win against ageing opposition.

Theres barely any fighters these days with a strong enough resume to warrant any of their fights being considered a superfight, its a weak era and a lot of those fighters on the current p4p list wouldnt be near the top in a different era based on their resume. And yes im including fighters like golovkin in that assessment.

A super fight doesn’t necessarily have to be two established ATGs and resumes going at it. It can be a mega event that the sport almost comes to a standstill over.

Larry Holmes-Gerry Cooney for example was a superfight.

To me a super fight would just be the best guys in the division and possibly the sport fighting each other, since that is rare anymore. Joshua-Wilder and Crawford-Spence would both be super fights to me. But as far as super fights as in PPV sold, no I don't really see any out there right now. I think the Joshua-Wilder fight would do pretty good considering what's at stake, but I don't see it being a super high selling PPV here in the states.

It isn’t an event fight right now but if built properly it could be made into a major event in the U.S. no it will not be as big as Floyd/odh but very few fights are.

Probably would be better for the sport and fans if the fight wasn’t a ppv but a major event on cbs and Espn combined in prime time from Jerry world or Las Vegas.

Could be th defining fight of the new generation.

A fight for undisputed is a superfight by default and fights that get the attention from the general public are too. I just see no reason to be this adamant in saying there aren't superfights to be made, boxing needs more public attention and these fights are the way to get it

Superfights are a dime a dozen.

Such as GGG vs Vanes, for example.

Yeah , that was mega super fight
At least in the pro-GGG fans
GGG + Vanes + promoter = super mega fight
Bullchit + Bullchit = mega fight by today’s standards
