That SD loss just show how that guy is willing to take challenges and how good he's because most olympians and hot prospects in their second pro fights would get KTFO quickly by Salidoe.
It was his second pro fight like I said and wasn't more beaten than Floyd by Castillo in their first opus.Comment

Cant argue anythin in your 1st paragraph. That is unheard of and I believe has never happened before. Casual fans just look at Salido's losses and dont realize how tough he was. That SD loss just show how that guy is willing to take challenges and how good he's because most olympians and hot prospects in their second pro fights would get KTFO quickly by Salidoe.

Castillo I agree was up on my scorecard as well. But never complained about the decision. I also had Maidana/Floyd 115-113 Floyd. But had no problem with the judge who saw a draw.
The rematch SUKED
Floyd Bayless wouldnt let Maidana do ANYTHING to Floyd. Maidnana even so much as flinched Bayless was on him.Comment

I'm a big Loma fan but i think people are making too much of the weight issue. I certainly wouldn't use it as an excuse.
If you're one of the most talented fighters ever, as some are proclaiming Loma to be, then a couple of weight divisions shouldn't be a big thing. Floyd at 147, although more experienced, wasn't quite fighter he was at lower weights and had shot hands and everything yet he still beat very solid 147 guys who were natural WW's or even bigger because he was that good.
Anyway, i'm not even sure Mikey is as effective at 140 as we was at a lower weight, same as Loma at 135.
I don't think their size difference is as big as people are making out. A division or two at best. People act like Loma is a midget like Rigo. He isn't. I'd say he's a decent size for 130 and Mikey probably is best somewhere between 135 and 140.
People might say Garcia walks around at a much heavier weight, so what? it's just more weight to lose. Carl Frampton walks around well above Featherweight, but he's actually a pretty small Featherweight i think.Last edited by TheBigLug; 06-25-2018, 08:22 PM.Comment

nah, it doesn't work like that
we saw that when Salido came in heavy
within divisions, it is all about levels..... but, size matters..... and size can help a fighter transcend levels
the thing is, the supposed larger fighter will still need skills and the right gameplan..... but additional FUNCTIONAL weight does matter
the point is..... if Mikey makes 135, then he is a lightweight..... /story
but I agree with your later points, good post !Comment

Because of Loma's reputation in boxing, that's why Mikey likes the fight, fighters chase the brightest lights .
You hang on words too much from one random comment to another, humans are contradictory all the time it don't mean much other than flippantly chatting, you boys engrave every word in stone.Comment
