Comments Thread For: Anthony Yarde Punishes Dariusz Sek, Wins By 7th-Round TKO

Anthony Yarde handled an experienced southpaw pretty easily Saturday night. The unbeaten British light heavyweight stopped Poland's Dariusz Sek in the seventh round on the Martin Murray-Roberto Garcia undercard at O2 Arena. The 26-year-old Yarde improved to 16-0 and recorded his 15th knockout. The stronger, younger Yarde also became the first opponent to knock out Sek in the veteran southpaw's 34-fight professional career (27-4-3, 9 KOs).

Still can't really say about Yarde but the dude Sek was tough. That's 16 crappy fights for Yarde.

Tough but the guy couldn't throw a meaningful punch. What is Yarde going to do when someone hits him back hard?

He is in for a shock when he actually has an opponent who tries to hurt him.

Yarde fought well, looked good. Sek was tough but didn't offer much more than that though.

Yarde's next moves are interesting ones. I don't blame his team for turning down the Kovalev and Beterbiev fights, they're 2 of the top guys and Yarde is still learning.

It's time for him to get going though. Bunce mentioned Barrera, but yeah..that's not happening.

The Euro champ is Boesel? I know nothing about him however.
Domestically there is some good fights, some that will show us more of where he is at also; Johnson, Buglioni, Burton, Buatsi.

There's guys tied up (Buatsi/Summers, Johnson/Beterbiev?) and the whole Warren/Hearn thing, but still..there's possibly interesting options.

Still haven't learned a thing about Yarde in probably a year and a half now and won't until he actually gets a test. Someone like Boesel, Ngumbu or Amar should be next, but we'll see if Warren goes that route. Regardless, this stalling of Yarde's progress is not good for his development and may come back to bite them in the near future
