Waiting for Hurd would be foolish, too many fighters nowadays waiting on other fighters and stalling their careers
Do yourself a favor, and watch Castano vs. Vitu on YouTube! I think Castano (WBA Regular Champion) would be a good opponent for Charlo! My problem with Lara is that J-Rock is ranked ahead of him in the WBC (and the IBF)! I don't like guys getting shots just because they have a bigger name, especially coming off a loss! Trout didn't deserve that title shot! J-Rock worked his way back, tough fight with Gallimore! J-Rock deserves it more than Lara!

        Bingo..
another posted saying Lara is a high risk low reward fight..sort of, but not really..Lara isn't super popular but people on the internet underestimate how much of a draw he is to an extent. Either way, he's clearly one of the best in the division, people know i'm high on Charlo, but I definitely want to see this fight.

Is J-Rock ready to get rocked by another Charlo?
Let them fight an eliminator. Lara vs Williams.

This would be a good fight and should be signed and scheduled. Both fighters are at or near their peak. No reason to not do it.

And BTW, why is Hurd still a JMW? He's at least MW size if not SMW. As it is now, he's essentially fighting midgets. Makes no sense IMO.

              Tough fight for Charlo.
              Lara could well take him.

... Charlo doesn't have to fight Lara... Charlo may very well take J-Rock, who is ranked at #1 by WBC.

Boxingscene in 2018 mate. Seen this type of comment floating around a few times, fighters getting called desperate and beggars when they go after a top fighter.

That would be good, but again, Williams has put in the work already:

                      April 7, 2018:

Julian Williams moved one step closer Saturday night to earning his shot at redemption.

Philadelphia’s Williams took Nathaniel Gallimore’s hardest shots well and took control in the second half of their 12-round, 154-pound fight in Las Vegas. Williams won their IBF junior middleweight elimination match by majority decision on the Erislandy Lara-Jarrett Hurd undercard at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - In an IBF junior middleweight eliminator, Julian Williams (25-1-1, 15 KOs) won a twelve round majority decision over Natha

So I think Williams is more deserving of a title shot, and really doesn't need to fight Lara in a WBC eliminator, since he just won an IBF eliminator. I would rather Charlo fight Brian Carlos Castano, the WBA "Regular" Champion, but J-Rock, the WBC #1 contender would be my second choice over Lara!
