ring cutting wasn't golovkins problem. canelos defense and counterpunching off the ropes was the problem.

he didn't find a way to land his shots, because he has slow handspeed and isn't really a close quarter fighter.
he needs space to land his punches and canelo was sharp enough to avoid and counter golovkin.
