What if Dillian Whyte beats Joseph Parker?

How would you rate Parker if he gets beaten by Dillian Whyte?

How would you judge him based on his resume and if he would have another chance to bounce back after two straight losses?

And if he wins against Whyte, how would you still rate him?

I'd still rate him as a top contender with room for much more improvement.

Neither Parker or Whyte or Joshua are the finished article yet, Parker has a deck of 9's.... he has nothing exceptional about him. If he can develop his explosiveness and power, he will have an ace in his deck, which is enough to make you competitive in this era.

If he loses to Whyte, which I think he will in a close fight, he can spend the next year or two building back up and become better. That will take him into his physical prime at 27/28.

Wouldn't be a big shock if it happened. Parker is talented but he has a real big style issue that he is yet to fix. He started of ****ing people out, but when he stepped up his lack of real power was exposed and was forced to develop a new style on the fly that involved more movement and hasn't found a way to mount any kind of meaningful offence while doing so which is why so many of his fights are so close. Until he learns how to counter punch on the move he will always struggle to impress and just squeak out wins by narrow margins.

How he loses will effect how he is seen after a loss to Whyte. If he's easily beaten people will say he was always overrated and maybe they were right. If it's another close competitive fight, he'll be seen as I see him now, talented but deeply flawed, maybe more gate keeper than genuine top contender.

Dillian Shyte learned to box when he turned pro, got KO by Joshua and lost to a shot Chisora ; a decorated amateur former world champion in Parker should be able to beat Shyte on footwork and defense alone -- Dillian Shyte is awful.

I kind of put Dillian Whyte in the same basket as George Groves. I was never hot on Groves early...but I think he has evolved on the job. Being humbled by Froch really taught him some valuable lessons and his ring IQ has improved immensly. I feel like Whyte is learning in the same way. He got outslugged by Joshua and its fair to say probably by Chisora as well. I know Browne was out of shape and off the Peds but Whyte certainly had a game plan in that fight and executed it perfectly. I can see him beating Parker if Joe is not on his game 100% and lately that hasn't been the case.

Parker has been less and less impressive most every time I see him. The exception to that trend was his only loss his last time out.
The idea though that you should draw conclusions about a fight before it has happened seems a little off. A lot of ways to win or lose a fight.
