Comments Thread For: Loeffler: 50-50 Was Fair; GGG Gave Canelo 5 Percent for His Ego!

Gennady Golovkin still believes he is worth a 50-50 revenue split for his highly anticipated rematch with Canelo Alvarez. According to promoter Tom Loeffler, Golovkin forfeited that final five percent to Alvarez in negotiations Wednesday to stroke his rival's ego. Loeffler discussed how the deal, which he declared "dead" earlier Wednesday, was finalized later that day during a press conference Monday in Los Angeles.

And 5% for an “enhanced” ego at that. So now we know GGG is getting 45%, not 42.5%. So they basically robbed Alvacheat. Oscar “the cross dresser” saved the deal my butt. It looks like he was real desperate to get this deal done, a bad promoter, and a worse negotiator. He basically bent over and took one from the GGG team. No way GGG deserved 45% based on Alvacheat’s overall box office drawing power....CTFU!!!!

No, Tom, Golovkin did not deserve a 50-50 split in this fight. And this is coming from a huge GGG fan.

I hope GGG is working on chasin chickens and wild rabbits because that’s how Alvarez will be running all around the ring.
He should consider wearing track shoes for the fight.

Oscar knew that this fight (the one the public craves) had to be made, and I'm glad that he got it done.

I thought MGM worked out the other 2.5%

Pretty good work by team GGG. And I continue to say good job to GBP for getting the fight done.

And to all the clowns who trashed Golovkin over his negotiations suck it.

                  that's what I thought
He probably got 45% but maybe his guaranteed purse is 1 million

I think Cashnelo conceded the final 2.5% because he viewed Jacobs as much tougher fight than GGG
