I didn’t realize Ruiz was fighting Kingpin. I thought Johnson would be a good opponent for Joyce. Kingpin KO’d Pianeta then got Ko’d by Petar Milas a few months back. Only the 2nd guy to do that.

Ok, I keep forgetting David Haye is the promoter -- why did I think Joyce was with Hearn?

Yeah man, seems to me Andy Ruiz has fought ten Kevin Johnson's by now, I would rather see Joe take Johnson apart.

Wasn't just the Joyce fight where Yoka got lucky either many thought Hrgovic beat him too, in the semi's. Yoka was basically gifted the gold medal with some very dubious scoring, similar to how Joshua won Gold the Olympics before.

That along with countless other bad scorecards such as Conlan getting robbed, it's easy to see why they may throw out boxing from the Olympics for corruption and bad scoring.

Could have only been watching one of the Haye/Bellew cards, though I think you publicly declared youd never watch either of them. Youve been caught out

Joyce/Jennings is interesting and a big test for both, probably not a fight I'd want to make if I was either promoter. Can't be that much money in it and a big risk for both fighters

I should point out Johnson didn't get ko'd by Milas the ref stopped the fight because of a cut. It was kind of BS too as Milas should have been deducted a point or 2 as he launched himself head first into Kingpin early in the 3rd & that caused the cut. It was borderline intentional looking but Johnson fought on & in the 5th he was bleeding bad & wiped the blood out of his eye & at the same time got caught by a big left hook that dropped him. He got up & fought on but by the 8th the doctor & Kingpin decided to stop it. They had stopped the action several times to look at the cut.

Lose lose situation for Jennings, but if they pay Jennings right for it it might be worth the trouble. Jennings turns 34 in a couple months. He's not got anything particularly sexy on the horizon really. This could get him some extra attention at least in the UK which is where there seems to be a lot of opportunities as of late.

So I understand if he passes as he should & likely will do, but if they make an effort to pay dude right it maybe worth the lack of THAT much of an upside.

If he does take it, it will be in the US, so it's unlikely he gets much money from the UK side as not many Brits would stay up and watch a fight at 4am for a novice. So I doubt there is any money in this fight for Jennings.

The real benefit in beating Joyce would be it possibly leading to a fight in the UK vs one of the top Brit heavies, that could see him make a decent payday, maybe Whyte if he beats Parker or one of the Fury's or Bellew.

No, this will be another American who doesn't want to fight Joyce. They'd rather fight bums instead.
