AgreedYeah, same here. But Spence has had some solid victories this past year or so. He went over to face Brook in his hometown, broke his previously unbroken eye socket, and captured his world title overseas. He then beat Lamont Peterson a seasoned vet with good skills. Now it's all about these top welterweights agreeing to fight him.
Oftentimes we blame the champion (Spence) for not fighting big names but in reality it's the GGG effect where you're on top but you're seen as a high-risk low-reward fighter. No one wants Spence right now but at some point these other guys won't have a way out. They'll have to fight him.
I legit think Crawford will fight Spence but that fight's gonna take a minute considering the promotional and network issues that would need to be worked out for them to meet. I expect that fight to happen sometime in late 2019 or 2020. Superfight right there between the two best 147 pounders. I just hope it's not another MayPac.

Peterson is not from Europe and Kell Brook was a champion I believe. Didn’t he beat the unbeaten Shawn porter who closely lost out to Thurman.
GGG didn’t even make Kell Brook quit and he was naturally the bigger man? Kell Brook was bigger than SpenceComment

Because none of the four ABC's rank a champion of another belt. It is against the rules. No IBF, WBA, or WBO champ is ranked by the WBC. Same thing with the other three. No WBC champ is ranked by any of those three. No WBO champ is ranked by WBC, WBA, or IBF. And so on.
However, all four allow for unification bouts. Unifications are naturally bigger fights.
It's all silly rules, I personally hate that the four ABC's won't rank any champ of the other three. That way, no belt holder can become a mandatory for another belt. So all unifications have to be agreed to by both champions. It is ridiculous, but those are the rules.
Hopefully the Garcia-Porter winner agrees. Because if the winner doesn't want to, he doesn't have to. Unless Al Haymon makes them. But if he tries that, the fighter could leave him. And both DSG and Porter are well-known and I'm sure Haymon wants to keep them both for the $$$ they will make in future fights.Comment
