      He actually played it smart imo. Golden Boy has a lot more leverage considering they are a bigger promotional firm and have more star power, they can only do so much. His #1 goal is to get as much money as he can for his fighter which gets their firm more money overall.

      Its a much different story if both firms have same drawing power(Golden Boy vs Arum), etc.

        He didn't play it smart at all, this Canelo deal was GGG's doing because he was turning down the offers. Leoffler was ready to take what Goldenboy was offering

            I think they settled with GGG because they would make a hell of a lot less money fighting anybody else even after they paid GGG more than they wanted to.

              Exactly. The 55% Canelo would make against GGG is still a lot more than the 80% he would make off fighting Jacobs, for example.
