Canelo was locked at giving 42.5% and GGG who last week wanted 50% dropped to 45% but wasn't going to budge. The Hail Mary is MGM coming in to sweeten the pot. Multiple sources say that MGM helped "facilitate" the deal after it was dead. Not a single report that Canelo gave up anything in this deal or that the split changed from the final 42.5% offer. So what did they offer GGG to change his mind?

Golden Boy went to MGM and said the fight is dead unless we can come up with extra money. MGM in the 11th hour increased their bid offer for the fight which added more money to the table and Golden Boy says to GGG well we just found some "money" that just fell from the sky and we won't even take a promoter fee on that extra money so that is extra that can go into your pocket. Which explains why Gomez is saying Oscar wanted it so bad he is coming out of his pocket. No promoter just gives away money he is simply not taking a cut out of NEW money he got from MGM but making the same money he originally intended. The clue this went down is that moments AFTER fight agreed it's announced the fight is taking place at MGM. Instead of last year where they make a deal then shop around for weeks to get venues to drive up the place. MGM secured the rights by adding the sweetener yesterday.

MGM came in and offered GGG free oil changes to get the fight done. lol Everybody comes out a winner Canelo doesn't lose a penny is still A side, GGG get's to say I got something extra then just the 42.5%, Golden Boy get's good press by pretending they gave away money to make the fight, MGM gets the event, fans win and get the fight. The ONLY loser is Saunders and maybe Jacobs. Both lose out on the huge paydays and Saunders now has lost out 3 times and has to explain the fake injury BS with Murray.

Obviously GGG has no fear of Canelo but he demanded a bigger share of the money and he got it.The ass holes who called him triplebeg look like the idiots they are now. According to Fat Dan the owners of the MGM stepped in to help. It’s possible they put up some money of their own to satisfy BBB side as they really wanted the fight there in September as their casinos clean up during fight week.
Maybe they gave Gina sweet slot machine voucher to close the deal.
