Anyone upset with GGG doesn’t know anything about business or negotiations. GGG’s entire team knew they weren’t getting a 50% split in the first place. Alvacheat has too much star power. But you have to at least counter the original offer. Only a moron who doesn’t know s...about business wouldn’t, regardless of what you really believe your bargaining power is. They should have countered the initial offer. And his team countered a few times and got up to 42.5%. Ask possibly more with another counter from Oscar. Good negotiations by both sides. Canelo didn’t give up too much and GGG got a little more. Now boxing fans have the fight they wanted all along that was derailed because (1) side ate some damn “contaminated meat,” supposedly-CTFU!!!!

The people jumping and down about this basically revealed themselves as people who never have engaged in a meaningful negotiation in their life. Even that fat dolt Dan Raphael seemed shocked with the 50% demand.

He gave up around 10% of this arguably this year's biggest fight... that's a huge chunk of the purse. From GGG's POV, that's 23% more money in his pocket.

No way GGG will win a decision now.

He's been here before with GGG and Jacobs.

He spent months spinning every twist in that saga into a "GGG doing everything he can to avoid this fight" narrative. Then when he had the rug pulled out from under him by GGG offering Danny more than his mandated split to get the fight made, he posted a few contrite, "Respect to both guys for getting it on, may the best man win" type comments ... then went straight back to talking about Golovkin having to be dragged kicking and screaming into the fight.

I will say this about him, he's a hard worker.. We exchanged Green Ks when Canelo got suspended. Me for not piling on to Canelo and him for admitting Canelo was irresponsible.
