That bolded paragraph is exactly what I'm talking about. Yes, he knew he wasn't going to fight Sergiy. Yes, he knew vanes is an easier fight, a stay busy fight waiting for Canelo.

You're right, those are legitimate options. My argument is that no boxer in the world would exercise those options to risk Canelo rematch. You have a legitimate option to stab yourself in your d1ck with a fork right now. You very easily can, nothing is stopping you. But you don't, just like no sane person in your place would.

The root cause was Canelos PED test. If he didn't piss dirty, we don't have this argument. He left Golovkin only one logical path to follow.

If thats the case then surely you must agree there is only one logical path for the IBF to follow too as they have rules they follow that GGG was aware of yet you oddly put most of the blame on them despite them being reactionary through this whole thing.

3 different versions since an issue in the implementation of a lineal championship is what to do if the lineal champion retires, dies, or moves to a different weight class. Different ways of resolving this vacancy mean the lineal championship may itself be subject to dispute. Since the modern lineal championship is merely a notional title tracked by fans, there is no money or organization to arrange a box-off to fill a vacant title, and there may not be consensus on who the top contenders are.

1- The Ring Magazine. The boxing magazine The Ring has its own lineal championship.
2- Cyber Boxing Zone. The Cyber Boxing Zone (CBZ) website maintains official lists of lineal champions.
3- Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. The board was formed to continue where The Ring "left off" in the aftermath of its purchase by Golden Boy Promotions.

Very different. Especially now. Lineal belt typically passes when u fight the man or the previous lineal champ in the division. Lineal is beating the man who beat the man and so forth. Ring title is established usually when the ring ranked #1 guy in the division fights the #2 or #3 guy. Only time lineal is established is if the belt has been vacated for some reason. And then its re established when the consensus #1 and #2 fight. So u can be the ring champion without being the lineal champ and vice versa.

The lineal title is an honor given to the best fighter of a division. It is first established when the unanimous top 2 fighters in a division fight and being a "lineage"

It is then passed down by beating the lineal titlist

The ring belt doesnt always follow lineal champ, for example Garcia at 140, Yoan Pablo Hernández at 200 and even floyd at 147

B-Hop - Taylor - Pavlik - Martinez - Cotto - Canelo is the line of succession for the MW lineal title.

I think Golovkin got what he wanted. A tune up against someone a few people know versus a risk versus an unknown. Now he gets Canelo and the money so he's not hurting from it at all.

he's the reason he needed to try and find a boxer [and venue, TV spot, license fee, etc,] in a number of weeks. i don't expect anty of you to understand what that involves, but you should understand that it was canelo's fault that he had ot do it.

vanes was stand-in so you cant really blame 3g that much. vanes was a top amateur for sure.

What is questionable is that vanes hasnt fought in 2 years.it should be someone more deserving. andy lee would be better!
