I have no idea how anyone can twist this period, he did it to himself.....

Seems like the IBF lost out in the end. I respect them for following and enforcing their rules.

I think Golovkin got what he wanted. A tune up against someone a few people know versus a risk versus an unknown. Now he gets Canelo and the money so he's not hurting from it at all.

You think Vanes is bad. Derevyanchenko fought Dashon fricking Johnson in his last fight. LOL.

Fighting Dev in August was not your poll though. Says he should have fought him May 5 on short notice, with no contract & not even an ordered mando until 4/27. Hardly seems reasonable to me. We all know why he didn't fight him this summer, because he just worked the rematch. Both these reasons are very understandable & should be totally acceptable. He's fighting the #2 MW that is also the lineal champ for big $ over an unknown 12-0 boxer that brings nothing to the table. So he sacrificed a belt, this happens all the time (even by HOF'rs) for much lesser reasons.

Poll: "GGG- he should've fought Derevyanchenko, his mando, on may 5th not martirosyan"

Both choices are ******, but I put more blame on Canelo.

Everyone knew the rematch talks would reignite afterwards. That he wouldn't accept a fight against mandatory if there's a bigger fight available.

It's slightly less awful than ibf stripping Fury for not fighting glazkov because he contractually owed Wlad a rematch.

Ibf should really allow some common sense on top of their rules.

I already put a brain dead fanboy mfer on ignore over this dumbass stance that shows an abundance of ignorance & bias. CLEARLY & WITHOUT question this is on GGG. We all get dealt sh^tty hands sometimes like GGG did when Canelo f#cked up the May date, but that doesn't make sh^tty hands you play excusable. GGG is at fault. Canelo is at fault for his own dumb sh^t.

Neither mfer showed much intelligence lately lets be real. Hopefully that'll change over the next several months & specifically in September when they fight again.

Correct, he didn't agree in writing, that's why GGG & Dev had the hearing with IBF. The exception for Vanes would only be granted if he did sign. It wasn't & he didn't. Then he was stripped for fighting an unsanctioned opponent, not for missing his mandatory.

Both his last two fights. Vanes wasn't sanctioned by IBF. Unification with Canelo didn't have to either.

                    Wut the eff!?!!?!?!

Are you sh^tting me? I dig you, I respect you, I give your takes full regard if I agree or disagree with you, but how the f#ck is GGG f#cking up his IBF belt Canelo's fault or more Canelo's fault as you put it?

The IBF said what was up. GGG nodded his head. GGG fought a dumb ass fight with Vanes over Derevyanchenko (on May 5 or at some future date cuz I wouldn't necessarily expect or recommend fighting a serious guy like him on short notice).

Canelo effed up his sh^t. But GGG doubled down on effing up his own sh^t if you ask me. Both sides f#cked sh^t up for themselves.

Well obviously team GGG thought they'd get the exception. They lost on that gamble. Hindsight 20/20 & maybe they would have tried to get Dev to the table. It amazes me that people think that both sides would have come to an agreement though in such short notice & with such little money in the pot.

GGG didn't give Dev the chance I suppose because Loeffler did say that fight needed more time to build & be on ppv. They were never given the 30 day negotiation term that even Jacobs & Dev are getting though. I think the fight would have never happened in May under the deadline & money HBO was putting up.
