        Not a great outing. Showtime's lack of subs really tends to shows with events like this.

          It was to pretty much consolidate the WBA title. Leo was the super champ and Mares the regular. Believe it was also an eliminator for the WBC title that Russell Jr has.

            Weak ratings for a pointless rematch. I know that promotors were thinking that they could build this all Mexican match up into another Barrera vs morales or Vasquez vs Marquez but we're not dealing with the same quality of fighters. The first fight was decent but by no means warranted a rematch. Fans will only fall for the foolery for so long.

                Its a boxing trend these days. Boxers want a lot of guaranteed money and it seems like promoters/managers are getting them the money they want but its taking promotional funding away. I mean the money has to come from somewhere.
