Sounds like his body has really broken down like some people said and makes me think was haye even 60% against bellew? And he's using that win as he's now superman who can challenge fury albeit rusty fury.

But leads me to think haye was being dishonest about how good he was feeling before second fight with bellew? Or maybe his body hasn't broken down exactly but just he's not as fast as he used to be.

Oh lighten up a little bit. I respect his skill-set. He was a terror at CW. At HW, he was more bark than bite. When all is said and done, his legacy isn't toe-riffic.

haha the last sentence got me not gonna lie. Yeah I got butthurt because I thought you guys were being to harsh since he is gone, you don’t know what you have till it’s gone. Anyway sorry for being emotional it was my time of the month.

I was never a fan of Haye but this 1 written "statement" has completely changed my opinion of him. It was well written, it was humble, it was introspective, it was wise. It made me think, it made me reflect, it made me feel, and it reminded me of the advice I wish I had followed all these years.

In the end Haye has learned to accept, he has found peace and he has realized what is important. In his end he has reminded others of what matters because sometimes we forget. And sometimes we never figure it out. And at the end of all that, for me, David Haye the boxer doesn't matter at all. But David Haye, the man that put those thoughts to paper, does.

Well written David Haye. You have a new fan and I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life. May it be even more rewarding than the last one was.

I hate to admit it but I was quite impressed by Haye's retirement statement.

He showed wisdom, intelligence and humility. It's hard to dislike him after reading that, although I'm still trying to, haha.

I've always thought Haye was one of the most athletically gifted big guys in the game. Watching the Haye and Wladimir Klitschko fight was really unusual in that both guys were so athletic for the heavyweight division. I don't think I've ever seen 2 heavyweights their size with such speed and athleticism in the same ring. I hated Haye's big mouth and ego but he was a damn good fighter. Good to see he has the intelligence and emotional insight to accept where he is at in his life. I enjoyed his fights and I wish him all the best!
