I'm not talking about the Golovkin fight. I'm referring to Jacobs. Then there is Saunders, Derev, and then Charlo. All these guys bring in more money than Spike. So Spike could be shelved for a long time.Comment

he's not allowed to stage a fight until Aug 17 but he can train all he wants. If he wasn't allowed to train during the suspension then he wouldn't be able to fight in Sept. There are no limitations by NSAC for him to get ready for a Sept fight.Last edited by bigdunny1; 06-12-2018, 10:16 AM.Comment

either fight will generate a lot more money on that date and venue than the spike fight...Comment

you really think jacobs will rather fight Derevyanchenko than canelo??
ibf can order what they want, but a canelo payday should be enough for jacobs to ignore the ibf... i mean he gave a ****t about their title not long ago just to come heavy on ggg, he will do the same for a truck load of money...
if no canelo then he must go after the title...
Or just cash in and fight Canelo and make more money then he's ever seen. not a tough decision lolComment

As a fan I hate seeing GGG being played by Canelo and team. He's the champ and he wasn't the one who failed a drug test for a banned substance. He's not the one that caused thousands of fans to cancel their plans and lose out on hard earned money. GGG should stop waiting around for this diva because all Canelo wants to do is cry and whine until he gets his way. He doesn't deserve the 60-40 split.
Unfortunately GGG was stripped of the IBF title which would have given him more leverage in negotiations.Comment

great point I forget about the weight issue for IBF. That adds another layer. 1) Jacobs and Dervy share trainers 2) He is already in line for the mandatory for the WBA, and second in line for the WBO and WBC so a title shot is coming he can pick and choose which belt he wants to fight for 3) Can he or does he even want to do the second day IBF weigh in that he already passed on for the GGG fight last year?
Or just cash in and fight Canelo and make more money then he's ever seen. not a tough decision lolComment

It will be somewhere between 60:40 and 57:43. So I think that in the end, the Loeffler/GGG tactics will have worked quite well (since +5-8% compared to the initial deal is a lot in absolute numbers).
It's the old strategy: asking for something unrealistic (50:50) to get a better deal.Comment
