He certainly was more deserving than amir khan, and Chavez jr and beefy Smith, and James Kirkland, and angulo. Shall I go on?

GGG has no choice but to accept the counter of 60/40 from Oscar, hes 36 not got time on his side and a bunch of high risk low reward fights only avilable other then Canelo.

Who knows if that offer is even available anymore. lol The last official offer which Loeffler negotiated weeks ago was a contract for was 65/35 that's when he held 3 belts. GGG refused to sign it.

If I'm Oscar I say bytch you either sign original deal for 65/35 or kick rocks you already wasted my time and your own promoter's time and now you have 1 less belt. And you better do it quick before Jacobs steals the fight and you left out in the cold. GGG has less leverage today then he did a week ago to demand anything. Golden Boy wants a full 3 months to promote Canelo's fight. So that means they need to announce his opponent in the next week or so. The train is moving on with or without GGG.

Jacobs camp already said they rather the Canelo fight as it pays much more. His manager said if the Canelo fight doesn't happen then they would fight for the IBF belt. They have plenty of time to see if the Canelo/GGG fight doesn't pan out before they have to negotiate for the IBF title shot. Canelo is going to make his decision in the next week maybe 2. He's already set for training camp.

Once the IBF officially orders the fight will likely give dervy and jacobs 30 days minimum to negotiate and sign a contract. Canelo shoe will drop first. Only thing stopping the Canelo fight is if GGG agrees quickly to Canelo's demands because Jacobs is not going to turn down a big money fight to fight his own stablemate (Jacobs/dervy has same trainer) for drastically less. He's also number 1 contender for the WBA belt he doesn't have to grab the IBF now to get a title shot.

ibf can order what they want, but a canelo payday should be enough for jacobs to ignore the ibf... i mean he gave a ****t about their title not long ago just to come heavy on ggg, he will do the same for a truck load of money...

you're ignoring the original point. The other poster implied ggg didn't deserve a shot at Canelo. You should know that's a ridiculous statement regardless of your Fandom. Especially since much less deserving opposition faced Canelo in his 3 fights leading up to his fight with ggg. You should also know that ggg would've never been given the opportunity to face names like mosley, mayweather and Cotto. Canelo benefitted from being a popular Mexican fighter which allotted him more opportuties than most. It's not because he's had more courage than any other top fighter.

all I said was Canelo vs O'sullivan would be a slap in the face to knowledgeable boxing fans. Now if you want to support it because you love Canelo unconditionally, then yeah, that's fine and it's your choice. It's also my opinion that you'd be a sucker to do so and would be supporting a fight that isn't best for boxing. But I learned long ago that there are 2 boxing fans. Fans of the sport and then fans of a specific fighter or fighters. You are the latter.
