What prime elite boxers has Crawford beaten?

I'm not a fan of this 'first guy to unify all the belts since XXXX'.... The reality is that unifying belts isn't hard because you have to beat 'X' amount of champions..... it's hard because of ****** governing bodies that routinely strip champions for not fighting crappy mandatory's.....
Bud's run in unifying the belts at SLW included fighting for 1 vacant title, then fighting Postol for another..... and then Indongo for the last couple....
Very good, he unified the belts... it's a good achievement... but that run doesn't exactly suggest he has done anything beyond what anyone else has done.... Postol and Indongo were not exactly established champions with lots of defences at the elite level.... they are just very average belt holders.
I really like Crawford... I rate the guy highly... but people are really drinking the kool aid on him at the moment.... saying he would beat Spence... and even a prime FMJr...... off of fighting average title holders and stopping Horn (who is the very definition of paper champ).... it just doesn't make too much sense.
OP is spot on the money.... Crawford has not faced any elite, established champions.... Gamboa is probably his best win... and Gamboa was only really good at featherweight....
Crawford has the talent.... and he has collected a lot of belts (from average title holders and paper champs).... but his resume (in terms of being a top, elite guy) is very weak.Last edited by craigus1990; 06-11-2018, 06:33 PM.Comment

Just like with GGG, he was hyped up as f-ck even though he had not faced any killers. It did turn out he was the real deal, same thing with Crawford. He looks to be the truth and he'll prove it now when he's in the welterweight division.Comment

It also account's to a lot of ATG's that hasn't beat an a prime elite boxer in their lives. I mean why stop at the guys today? Hardly seems fair that other ATG's that never fought prime elite boxers can hind behind history.Comment

todays fighter do not want to end up like yesterdays fighter....broke and begging. Most of the elites outside of boxing have no souls that's for sure. But one thing in common is business more specifically money. Moneys the root of All evil. Its a shame really because I guarantee we've missed some badass ***in fights down to business reasons.
Who would you say are the elite these days.
maximize the $$$$
imho, there are no elite guys (1st ballot hofers when they retire). just guys at the top. and thats part of the problem. not enough quality challengers. its feast or famine. we have really good champs with potential to be great but no quality challengers to test them. all of the good guys are champs.
and that leads us back to $$$$$
wouldnt any of us try and earn as much as we can every time out ? and lets not even get into promotional squabbles.
after the top guys fight each other, the last guys standing will be our eras elite.Comment

Probably none. So what? How many guys fighting right now have beaten any prime elite fighters? Prime elite fighters are very rare and there aren't that many of them. If there were lots of them they wouldn't be elite, would they now? Crawford has beaten lots of good fighters and champions. He beat them in style with no close fights.I guess that is not good enough for some but it's good enough for me to rank him one of the 5 best fighters in the world. Some rank him the best in the world. Beating lots of good fighters in dominant fashion can be just as good as beating one or two elite fighters in their prime.Comment
