Totally agree. I think it's okay to point out that one fighter might not be on another one's level but to call all fighters bums who are not at an elite level is not just disrespectful but inaccurate.

Good post. I hate hearing the term bum being used to describe any fighter. Even fighters I dislike, I would never refer to them as bums.

I do understand some of the animosity towards certain fighters, especially the ones who routinely disrespect other fighters such as Mayweather, Broner, Fury, the Charlos, etc.

why is boxing different than any other fan driven form of entertainment ???

we rightfully say which singer/band are garbage yet we wouldnt do much better if plopped in front of a few thousand people.

                singers/bands are rightfully called bums
                mlb'ers are rightfully called bums
                nfl'ers are rightfully called bums
                actors/actresses/directrors are rightfully called bums

                but boxing is above that

Because in boxing the right punch can kill you or simply alter your life forever. If you are a licensed fighter, you literally take your life and put it on the line everytime you get into a boxing ring. I have yet to see a sub-par singer die from miscalculating an octave, a baseball player slide or swing a bat to his death, NFL yeah you pay a serious price for playing the sport and there have been some cases of paralysis on the field but we've seen boxers literally DIE in the ring. It's also a combat sport so it has to carry a certain level of respect automatically. Combine the risks with the nerves of performing for millions, that's a lot to ask of people. I have seen decent rappers literally throw careers away because the nerves got in the way of them repeating verses on stage that they've repeated a thousand times before in practice. It's a man to man face to face no teammates to save you, a level of brutality that should never ever be downplayed.

                      WE UNDERSTAND THIS

the point still remains, within boxing, there exists BUMS.

and we are not comparing a boxer with a fan. we are comparing them to each other.

''derrrrrrrrrrrrr.............that bum can beat all haters asses !!!!''

                      theyll still be a bum.
