hes got a lucrative 3 fight deal with hbo.
hes already had 1 of them with luis collazo and had 2 remaining.
say he fights mayweather in hes 2nd hbo fight ,which should generate massive buyrates all over ther world,and looses pretty badly (like 90% of the scene members think) there aint gonna be no interest in hes 3rd fight which is been mapped out has hes biggest payday of hes carear.
so if he takes on floyd now and looses hes gonna lose out on 1 more biggish payday

Or he takes Floyd on now when the opportunity is there and he believes in himself thinking he's going to win and gains a ton of fan support and viewership for the 3rd fight.

What's the deal here?

Before anyone from the obvious group of posters who are going to jump in with their nickers in a knot over this question, let me say I like and respect Hatton.

He's an exciting fighter and I think his move to the US and taking on someone he knew was a bad style match up was a good move and showed he's serious about being taken seriously.

But he's been half calling out Floyd since beating Tszyu, and that was a year ago. After beating Tszyu he wanted two more fights. Then it was "I'll fight him in 2006".

Before and after fighting Collazo he was talking about Maywether.

Now, Floyd has announced he's fighting Nov. 4th, and no opponent is set. Why isn't Hatton calling for this fight? We saw in the Collazo fight he could lose a fight if he stays at Welterweight. So could Floyd if the stars were alligned.

Why not jump at the chance to fight Floyd in November?

Perhaps he lost confidence after winning a very close fight against an unknown, just a thought.

You raise a good point about Hatton's confidence but hearing him speak he seemed to think Collazo's style was what troubled him, not anything he failed to do.

He still seems like a confident fighter, and he's talked about wanting to fight Floyd even after the Collazo fight.

I never said that. Floyd 'called out' Hatton at 140 where he actually was the man but nothing ever materialized. Not like Floyd intended to fight Hatton anyway, just like he never intended on fighting Winky either. I don't blame him, after what Hatton did to Zoo.

Mayweather's been at welterweight since last november when Hatton fought Maussa.

After that fight, Hatton moved up with the said intention of forcing a fight with Floyd.

All I was saying is that when Hatton beat Zoo and after Floyd beat Gatti he was supposedly calling Hatton out. Then he moved up to 147 (obviously avoiding him or getting a gimme belt) and Hatton moved up to try to force Mayweather to fight him. Where am I wrong?lol
