I'd disagree, tbh. Folks can argue the degrees of separation, but Daniel Jacobs signed with Eddie Hearn because HBO put up what they did as the guarantee and the move helps make money fights more makable. Carl Frampton signed with Frank Warren because of the fallout with the McGuigans plus Warren's promise to get him a stadium fight in Belfast. (Lee Selby was looking for big fights in the UK, but seeing Warren in Warrington's corner, openly cheering him on in that foul-filled performance, should've made things clear).

Jamel Herring signing with Top Rank was likely a move to get back on a title track, after coming up short twice with Haymon (similar to Vanes, tbh).

The amount of actual exodus has been overblown here

Fighters should start paying flat fees to lawyers/accountants/negotiators to speak to networks on their behalf to negotiate a purse rather than bound themselves to a multi-year contract because of the lure of a significant signing-on fee. Errol spence jr talked about how he wanted to sign for top rank because of the signing on fee but his father advised him to go with haymon and hes glad he did

Promoters offer money up front, though. Being able to see longterm isn't a thing common to boxing.

I think Top Rank will also lose the Benevidez case, but Benevidez, after not really seeing any money yet, was offered $250k as a signing bonus to sign with Top Rank. You lose sight of things.

Had he paused for a moment, he'd see that he was WBC 168lb champion, Jose Uzcategui is the current mandatory to IBF 168lb champ James Degale, the Groves-Smith winner would be WBA champ, and all of those fights are in his orbit (before you also add in Caleb Plant, J'Leon Love, Peter Quillin, etc). The money will take a bit longer to come, but he'd likely be on bigger money, while also actually seeing it.

There's a rumour that Beterbiev is a snake kind of person, I don't know if it's true or not but it's based on words of Kovalev, his amateur trainer whom he told he's going to visit Canada for surgery and signed the contract with Yvon instead of it, and Anna Reva, his former manager she told Beterbiev left her without saying a word and tried to sue her as soon as Al Haymon offered the contract. Anna Reva is probably shady too, it's said her ties to to organized crime 100 times stronger than Khurtsidze, but Kovalev doesnt look like a liar, you can say what you want about him but he stays loyal to Egis and HBO because he knows who took him out of dirt. So it seems like a karma thing for Artur now

Well another loss in court for Top Rank. The 2nd will be to Chris Middendorf as he was the promoter of Bud Crawford and He and TR cut a deal to co-promote him and TR was sued for not paying Chris Middendorf his portion after he became champion. 3rd will be with David Benavidez. There is no way in hell that TR will win that one as either

Looks like Benavidez returned Top Rank's signing bonus. Arum is going to get off as the blame for that is being placed on Billy Keane.
