This is about as silly as saying the 21st century began on January 1, 2000. No, it began January 1, 2001.

    Rankings are

    #1 Derevyanchenko
    #2 NOT RATED
    #3 Jacobs
    #4 Charlo
    #5 Andrade
its only dumb if you are incapable of understanding it.

In reality, there are 2 ways a fighter can be named #1 or #2, in ANY sanctioning organization.

Way #1 is for some clown like Suiliman or Mendoza to say "fighter A is now the #1 contender". That method is too open to corruption, favoritism, or incompetence.

Way #2 is what the IBF does. 2 fighters in the top 10 must fight in an elimination bout, and the winner gets a #1 or #2 rating. In this case, Derev beat Johnson in an elimination bout. There is no #2 right now because there are not 2 current top 10 contenders willing to fight each other at the moment. Everyone wants to sit around and see what happens first.

Everyone has their own opinions, but personally id rather see a guy actually FIGHT for a #1 or #2 rating than to just have someone appoint them because it suits their financial interests better......

If Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren can work it out that would be a huge, huge fight." - Rozier

I'm not liking the sound of that at all! Jacobs MAN UP!!! Why would you want Saunders vs. Jacobs over Canelo vs. Jacobs??? I hope Hearn is smarter than Rozier!
I think he's saying he doesn't believe Canelo would fight Jacobs, pretty reasonable assumption.

What will possibly happen if no GGG-Canelo is the following scenario. Derevechenko-Andrade for vacant IBF, Canelo-Jacobs?, GGG-Saunders. But who knows what G and Nelo will do

They want both guys to have belts simultaneously that's all. Sergiy gets the IBF ideally and possibly Jacobs snatching BJS belt. Trying to maximize the dollars why mess up a good thing.

Irony is when someone who speaks 3 languages is being corrected by one who speaks only one. Good job, mate, you found one! Now get back to the subject, shall you?
