Did people know he'd gone on to have a HOF career? No. But he was always considered a top british talent at the time, and don't try to contest this because I was there for pretty much every single Froch fight before he made it to the Pascal fight.
Froch was only on Sky Sports a few times until the Super 6.

He became a Star due to having a massive build up on BBC with live peak time terrestial tv from the beginning of his career and watched by Millions of people. He then moved to ITV where his fights against Jean Pascal were also watched by Millions.

His fight versus Jermain Taylor was watched by something like 1.8 Million viewers on ITV despite it being Live/Delayed from America.

Yeah don’t talk to me about Froch.

I watched his whole career on Sky Sports amongst others. Do your research

Im not saying he was. Both fury & froch had amateur experience. That doesnt mean they got the credit or recognition as pros coming up

This is written with hindsight but still touches on how he was seen

Measured Against All Time: Carl Froch
        by Cliff Rold

Sometimes the sum is greater than the whole of the parts.

It took a little longer for Carl Froch to get the respect of the boxing world than it should have. He wasn’t the fastest fighter in the sport. He wasn’t the biggest puncher. His coordination and awkwardness didn’t suggest masterful athleticism.

In a world obsessed with aesthetics, he relied on the little things too often taken for granted. He was tough, tenacious, durable, and smart enough to figure out who he was in the ring and make it work. Add in a salty personality and a chip on his shoulder and Froch became one of the biggest winners of his generation in a strong Super Middleweight era.
There’s a stark difference between ridiculing someone and not earning their respect.

Cliff Rold who I know very well, and who posts here often and whom I’ve discussed Froch with on more accounts than you could ever know, was referring to his stature as a world champion. Because he didn’t fight like the rest.

This does not mean he was ridiculed as a fighter which is absolute BS. He was always considered a top British talent straight from the debut.

What do you mean "Do your research". Which part of my previous post was exactly wrong then?

You weren't a froch fan and probably not a boxing fan back then, so just don't discuss this stuff with me.

As I said, I watched Froch with my own eyes on Sky Sports waayyyyy before Super 6.

Ok, seeing as you're on your soapbox you've missed the point.

Roids article was touching on how he was seen. Nothing special, thats well off the mark from your being seen as top british talent.

Fans claimed he was ****e, media never gave him credit. End of

                Yeah ridiculed.

It's clear as day you weren't a boxing fan back then, so just let it go. I lived through his whole career ffs.

One Hennesy prospect that actually was ridiculed was Tyson Fury.

Do you understand what ridiculed means?

You're the wee guy expat looking for gold in the sewers. You're still a fanny then, no social awareness eh?

                      Yes I do. You don't.

And you didn't follow boxing then, so sit down.
