If Alvarez can fight a nobody and get say 400k ppv buys but GGG fights a nobody and gets say 100k ppv buys, doesn't that suggest that the majority of fans paying for ppv for a GGG-Alvarez fight would be paying to see Alvarez fight GGG and not GGG fight Alvarez.

Who won the 1st fight doesn't necessarily dictate who gets the bigger split in a rematch unless it's in the contract already. Otherwise, its just about who is the biggest draw.
