Now we also get more paper belt holders and more BS posturing.
Good post, it's something to think about.

Really don’t know what have just read from this article. Only thing am going to take away from it is this, we all commend the IBF for doing what was right, even when they stand to lose more money. If the writer is trying to make fun of IBF decision then he exposes himself as an idiot. We need more organisations like the IBF. Money or name should not influence an organisation’s decision. Hopefully the rest of the organisation would follow this excellent example.

I have been saying for years all of those belts have been doing for BBB side is costing him sanctioning fees and not making him anything.
Funny how now the IBF strips him and his fans feel the same.

The author wants to present this situation as being advantageous for Golovkin, but it just illustrates the fact that Golovkin's priorities are not what he pretends them to be. He's talks about a 'big drama show", but he really just wants the 'big drama dough'.

Since Golovkin doesn't want his mandatory, Derevyanchenko, and no unification bout with BJS is imminent, the IBF did what it was supposed to. However, if Golovkin now considers taking less for the Canelo rematch because he was stripped, it doesn't make sense. Wouldn't they have stripped him anyway, since a Canelo fight is neither mandatory nor a unification bout?

A champion does not get to rest on his laurels. A champion has obligations to fulfill in order to remain a champion. Why does Golovkin have the right to make deserving challengers wait indefinitely while he chases his personal obsession? His fans would like to cut him slack, but holding the titles hostage is not good for the sport. Golovkin is considered (by most) to be the world's best middleweight, and it can only hurt the sport's profile when a fighter of that caliber is showcased in a complete mismatch like his last fight was. IBF was right in their disapproval of Vanes as title challenger, and they have every right to strip a champion who shows no interest in defending the title against mandatory challengers. How can a fan who appreciate ambitious fighters justify Golovkins recent actions? Unless 'ambition' is a euphemism for rapacious greed.

It will be interesting who fights for the vacant belt.
IF Cownelo fights for it, IBF was bought out by Fishnet .

What's so annoying about Golovkin is that his apologists are professional commentators and journslists. Keith Idec just wrote a boot licking article about a guy that the boxing media has shown an absurd amount of favoritism towards as if it's a revelation. They need to make GGG the new mascot for MAD magazine because he is a caricature for the boxing media. The ridiculous notion that the guy who was made out to be the boogeyman was robbed in a fight that he barely ever landed one power shot in and was given credit for "walking through" his opponents clean counters in a draw is vintage boxing media favouritism.
