I thought it was clear the IBF gave him conditions that he had to adhere to IF he fought Vanes, and that was to fight their mandatory by August 3rd. GGG tried to get an extension, which goes against their condition of August 3rd..... he was then stripped.
Why didn't Loeffler draw up a draft contract agreeing to fight the IBF mandatory right after or even before his last fight? Why did they wait, then apply for an extension which goes against the condition agreed to before Vanes that he would agree a fight by August 3rd?
We know this is BS, they were trying to get Canelo and probably Saunders.
GGG's team are to blame, the agreed conditions were pretty clear, you can't apply to change them and expect not to be stripped lol
The IBF was a hindrance any way, with the bigger guys fighting GGG skipping the IBF same day weight limit.Comment

How is it a shock? They told you fight your damn mando and you didn't now had any intention of doing soComment

Everyone pointing the finger at GGG but none saying anything about Dev & DiBella? Look at how counterproductive their contention was. They don't get the fight against Golovkin now. That obviously would be his career high payday. He's looking at a possible match up vs Andrade or Murray? How much you think that is going to pay? Vs GGG it would at least have netted him a PPV & a few Million. Now it's all risk, basically a second eliminator & still won't see that payday on the near horizon.
He could have built upon his standing & increased his chances for the big fight by taking on a tougher challenge himself. He chose to fight the guy with 22 L's & nothing since, just another guy with no activity level unless ordered to do so with a pending deadline.
I'm all for having the next level fighters square off, but this won't change anything when the top contenders still looking for either Canelo or Golovkin. It's been only Golovkin that's even tried to unify titles at this division for years now. None of the other champs that have been mixed in have even attempted other than Lemieux. None care about that I guess. More paper champs, just what boxing needs.
Now Golovkin can take some blame here too, not by passing on the May 5th match up (one month to fight a mandatory isn't reasonable), rather he could have stayed active & fought Dev over the winter. Too much risk though with the Canelo match looming, I understand that. Bet they'd have chosen differently had they only known how this year was going to unfold.Comment

3 Daniel Jacobs United States
4 Jermall Charlo United States
5 Demetrius Andrade United States
These are the IBF rankings for April and there was no number 2. Danny Jacobs will have to fight Charlo for the number 2 sport before the winner faces the New Champion. Everyone knows Hearn (Jacobs promoter) has such a great relationship with IBF so please imagine every conspiracy theory possible.Comment

I like GGG and I think he is a great guy and good at what he does. I don't think he beat Jacobs and I don't think he can beat Charlo. I actually think Charlo will knock him out. I do not want to see the Charlo -Jacobs fight at the moment. If it was possible Charlo vs GGG, Daniels vs CaNELO before facing each other. There is no room to hide at 160lbs, ish just became real.Comment
