So when other fighters didn't fight GGG because it was high risk and not enough money it was called a duck. Right? But when GGG doen't fight Sergiy because it's high risk and there wasn't enough money in the fight for him what is that called?

Hence why I don’t use the word “duck” often. Every time a guy doesn’t fight another guy because he has better options doesn’t mean it is a “duck”. No I don’t believe Golovkin is “ducking” a guy he beat twice in the amateurs.

All that said because Golovkin wasn’t a draw and he was dangerous it was difficult for him to build his resume. Guys he could have fought saw greener pastures elsewhere. That’s just reality. It is why boxing sucks a lot of the time. Big money fights actually hurt boxing in my opinion. Lots of waiting around and good younger fighters have difficulty getting the big name fighters. That’s why I say to a guy like Charlo don’t wait around for the big name guys, create the buzz yourself. Take on anyone and fight as much as possible.

How much GGG get for Canelo? I was thinking $10M-ish & figured he was getting around $2.5M-$3M-ish iirc before that. So thought 3-4 was in the range.

But the main point holds. Canelo is the fight to make by a mile if you are cashing out & f#ck man I almost think just hanging them up in lieu of Canelo & Oscar calling you out of retirement or something in 12mos for maybe even bigger money is a better plan b than fighting Charlo & Derevyancheko & whoever else for those smaller paydays & much more risk or the concern of risk since they are promising if still unknown en****** at this level.

so..... Golovkin should be allowed to continue top-toeing through the tulips, avoiding anyone who poses a threat..... so that he can break Hopkins record, without breaking a sweat

I do not think the fight would ever be made because of the low purse. Some of you dummies believe what you want to believe. Let's take for example GBP offer to Jacobs. If that think is something ridiculous and Jacobs says F no, is that a duck? The Canelo fanboys will scream yes. If Golovkin couldn't offer a reasonable amount to Derevy than why bother, so you can save face and said you offered. That's just BS for the dummies. Loeffler said Derevy would need more, they paid crap to Vanes.

Given it was less than a month to make the fight, no it was not a duck. Now, let's say Golovkin refused to fight Derevy next and then goes and fights a Vanes like guy. Yeah I'll call that a duck. If he goes out an fights one of the other top guys who brings in a lot more, no I'm no calling that a duck.

Derevyanchenko is 32 years old, stayed amateur a bit too long, and is basically hitting his physical peak (sharp mind, sharp body); if offered the fight, Derevyanchenko likely takes it at almost any price, because there's blood in the water and everyone knows it now.

That's why there was no offer made by K2; Derevyanchenko hasn't gotten to be money yet, and I doubt he's been over the "time to pay Haymon a piece" threshold yet.

1) to be stripped by the WBC if he does not face Charlo NEXT

2) for Canelo to fight Saunders, and totally refuse to ever rematch Golovkin..... 1) because of the ridiculous things he said..... 2) because he killed the rematch by making ridiculous demands

I wanted that fight..... but Canelo will fight ANYONE, he already proved that..... so he will get back on top, and Golovkin deserves nothing for the way he has behaved as a supposed champion

See a lot of the same old haters on here multi-posting, never having anything positive to say. Seems you guys follow & care more than the Golovkin fans. I'll fall on my sword & stoke the fire a bit though...

1- This not really that important, but you all be the first to scream when someone says the wrong thing so it's worth noting one more time for you. Dev wan't his Mando for May 5. That wasn't announced unitl 4/27. He was stripped for fighting a non-sanctioned opponent because he didn't sign off on fighting SD next. You guys keep repeating the same incorrect information, but guess that's nothing new for ya's.

2- People that say he should of fought SD in May are delusional to think that he'd have accepted such little money & that both sides would of come to an agreement in less than 3 weeks time.

3- So why did he fight Vanes then if this got him stripped? That's the real question. If he'd have not fought at all he'd still have his belt. He could have then unified with Saunders over the summer. Poor counseling by Loeffler. Hard to fault a boxer that wants to stay active though, even if the opponent wasn't up to standard. As I said, should of waited & he'd still have his belt.

4- This is actually good for the division because it should force some of the other contenders to fight, yet some of you are already accepting that Dev probably won't need to fight Jacobs, Charlo & even Andrade may still not take the challenge. Why the double standard for everyone else? Dev vs Murray for the IBF, how's that for next self declared MW Champion.

5- Golovkin should still fight a higher ranked MW next but that won't quiet the critics, the false narrative will still be parrot'd & some of you will still just be waiting for the next small slice of excitement in your lives...trying to knock Golovkin for who knows why.

6- I certainly still hope GGG fights BJS or Canelo next, it won't matter whether he's short one belt. It'll still be the best match-ups he can make when he has proper time & a willing dance partner. I just hope some of the other top MW's do the same because he's getting long in the tooth & time won't be on his side to settle all these upcoming disputes.

7- Seems to me that his mistake was not doing the BJS fight last summer & going for the Canelo money. Hindight always 20-20 though & been chasing the big recognition & money fight for years. Won't even go into The Ring Mag rewriting it's rules to keep Canelo it's champion & all the other double standards. Those are other organizations & this is only about the IBF, but GGG sure has been snake-bit since that decision last year & the resulting inactivity has really hurt him.

Gotta say..i'm disappointed by this move. And no he couldn't have fought him on May 5th despite what the re-writers of history want to claim on here. If the money wasn't good enough for Spike it wasn't good enough for Dibella. I love how nobody points out how radio silent Dibella went after the numbers HBO was offering for May 5th came out and decided to go to court. I really do hope this is just a delaying though to get the belt back, otherwise, it looks bad, real bad.
