Just read the comments on ESPN's article trying to inform the public on how to even watch this shyt. It's 100% negative comments ESPN subscribers upset that they have to pay additional fee, people who don't have a smart tv or streaming device and still watch tv from a cable or satellite provider literally can't watch the fight now. You have a good showtime card airing this weekend as well. This is going to be a disaster with very few watching the fight and if you really wanted Crawford to be the face of ESPN you would put this fight on ESPN for the world to see.

They should of rolled out this app slowly did some lower tier fights built up the app and then launch a big fight on it maybe next year if you have to. I don't know a single person who has used this app yet and from what I'm seeing it's almost all negative. So instead of talking about a pretty good fight all the talk is about trashing ESPN and this app.
The majority of the public has no ****in clue how to stream. We think everybody knows how to stream because we've been streaming fights so long it comes naturally to us.

The idea of of watching it on a smartphone or tablet takes the atmosphere and the social interactions away. I understand that it may please the younger demographic but this is boxing and a huge population that watch the sport are older. My older family members would never even think of watching fights on a phone or tablet.
You're a good example of what I'm talking about when I say the majority of the public are clueless when it comes to streaming. Please don't take that the wrong way because I'm not trying to call you ******.

You don't actually have to watch it on your phone or tablet. You can mirror from your phone or tablet to your TV. You can buy a chromecast to do it. You can also do it from apple tv and xbox. There are other ways to do it but the problem is they're putting up more barriers to watching the fight. To get the most views you want to make it as easy as possible. There is nothing easier than turning on the TV and watching the fight.

When all TV's come pre-installed with the ESPN + app is when it'll be smart to put fighters like Crawford on the app. Just go to menu, click ESPN + and watch the fight.

Real talk here is Pacquiao backed off the card which rendered the PPV in void.

I don't like this move at all. If it was on both live TV and the app (like Loma v. Linares) that would make more sense.

I'll be watching Mares v LSC and Charlo v Trout. Not paying for this app when this is the only fight on that network that matters for the foreseeable future.
look at it this way fam. The cost of the app is less than half of Showtime and shows more fights. You get at least 2-3 cards a month plus the entire undercard of the regular ESPN cards. And they are showing foreign cards like the BJS-Murray card thst just had the main event canceled. Don’t forget Pacquiao- Marhysse is on the app too. Instead of paying $70 for the Pc-Mathusse fight u can get a year of the app for $49.99 and get all the fights fam

just cancel showtime or hbo and get the app. It’s less than half the cost of showtime or hbo if u pay $49.99 for the entire year then it’s even cheaper and has more cards than hbo or showtime plus the other sports fam.

It's not about the cost. It's about technology illiteracy. Streaming doesn't come as easy to the majority of the public as it comes to us. The more barriers you put in place to watch the fight the less viewers.

When you tell people stream they automatically think facebook live or instagram live.

There's not enough content to care about buying this. That's the problem.

I use Showtime's app for more than boxing. That's my point. Their boxing offering isn't strong enough to warrant the purchase right now and the other content is trashy. They need to get some NBA, NFL, and college football games on this and then I'll buy.

Ya'll aint listening to a word I'm saying. smh. I worked in the field for 15 years and still do a lil work in it. It's not about the cost. It's about accessibility!!!

Most people know how to get on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and watch live streams from there. When you start talking about downloading an app on your phone and mirroring it to your TV you gonna lose a lot of people.

If these apps came pre-installed on TV's it would be alot easier for people to watch.

People want a la carte TV service. The public has been calling for that for years. They don't want to pay for channels they dont' watch so the OTT is what people want. But it will only take off when they come pre-installed on TV's or TV's allow you to download OTT.
