canelo gets that money back in 2 or 3 fights, ggg wont get that money for the rest of his career...
in other words canelo is young and can afford to select a different fight, heck he even showed his middle finger to both floyd and cotto before, kid has a huge ego and wont hesitate to show the middle finger to ggg... in fact i think he just did...

Canelo's not young he'll be 28 most and Mexican fighters are done by 32 or 33 and he's fighting at 160 when he should be at 154 so he'll break down even faster with the bigger competition...

It's not Tom's call. It's GGG's call. He knows they will rob him of all his belts if they go the distance again. He also knows there are no easy routes for Canelo to take from here what is the big fight for Canelo without GGG? Jacobs? Saunders? Charlo? All really big guys and fights Canelo could possibly take an L. GGG has Saunders, Murata, Sergiy or Charlo? All fights he probably wins right now...

So is it about winning or the money? Canelo will always make the money but doesn't mean he will keep winning at this new weight...

Breaking news - Oscar has just formally offered GGG 50-50 to fight Spike O' Sullivan on the undercard for a chance to fight Canelo next if he wins! Looks like GGG is getting that 50/50 after all from Oscar.

Hearn, speaking to ESPN from his home in England, said he was pleased to hear from Gomez and hopes to finalize the fight.

"I can tell you that we love the fight," Hearn said. "It's a fight that when I signed Daniel Jacobs he told me he believes he beats Canelo every day of the week. We had a brief conversation with Golden Boy about a week ago or so [when Alvarez-Golovkin negotiations were first on the ropes] and it was hard to tell whether it was part of the plan in the negotiations with Canelo-Golovkin or if they really wanted the fight. We confirmed our interest and today we received an official offer to fight Canelo on Sept. 15.

"I've taken the offer to Keith Connolly, Danny's manager, Danny. We're extremely interested. Obviously, it's a huge fight."

Hearn said he hoped to make the deal quickly and didn't intend on dragging things out.

"It's a first offer and we are not looking to be difficult, but we know our value in the fight," Hearn said. "We have a guy in Daniel Jacobs who, in my opinion, beat Gennady Golovkin but in anybody's opinion had a wonderful fight with Golovkin which many couldn't split. In that respect, I see Jacobs as the perfect guy to fight Canelo.

"This is one of the reasons we signed with HBO -- to get this fight. Now we're here. I will push for every dime for my client. At the same time we realize this is a wonderful opportunity and we'll do everything we can to make this fight. This is a major, major, major fight for Danny Jacobs. We know the money involved in the fight. We believe it does big pay-per-view numbers."

De La Hoya said he hoped to also wrap it up quickly.

"The deadline is going to be middle of this month because we have to start promoting and lock down everything," he said. "Our sponsors are ready to go and we want to give the fight fans the best possible fight, and unfortunately GGG didn't budge from his 50-50, so we're moving on."

Great for GGG for not budging. He's backing Red into a corner. He knows they just plan on taking his belts and running. The thing is, Canelo needs GGG because Jacobs and Saunders are actually tough match-ups for him. I doubt he gets past either one of them. He needs GGG, otherwise he moves on to fighting Spike or Lemieux. Saunders and Jacobs are just a bluff. Canelo has no plans of fighting either of them. GGG is Undisputed & Undefeated MW Champion of the World. FACT!

The plan is this, if Canelo can make 160 he'll fight Spike O'Sullivan and if he can't, Oscar intends to put him in with David Lemieux at 168lbs. That's the real deal, like it or not that's it.

The behind the scene talk is that Canelo will NOT fight Danny Jacobs, Charlo, Billy Joe Saunders, Demetrius Andrade or Derevyanchenko... not today or any other day.

Dumbazz canelo/chavez did 1M buys last year without floyd, cotto, or GGG. He's sold over 4.5M ppvs in his career WITHOUT GGG. GGG is not cotto. Cotto had a decade worth of ppvs he sold without canelo that he brought to the table. Other then Floyd and Manny cotto was the biggest draw the last decade. GGG has sold 300K ppvs his career without canelo. lol And canelo is a much bigger draw today then he was before he beat cotto hence canelo/chavez sold more then canelo/cotto yet nobody is saying chavez is a bigger draw then cotto or that he should of been paid as much as cotto. Nobody is ever getting 50% fighting canelo unless your name is Floyd nobody is a equal or bigger draw then him today. Especially not a clown who flopped in every ppv he was involved in before canelo and who can't even sellout the stubhub.

GGG turned down 20M demanding much more when he just made 1M to fight vanes and made 2.5M last year to fight Jacobs. Canelo brings the money to the table and made over 20M last year to fight chavez. GGG needs canelo to make money and sell ppvs. Canelo has proven he makes money and sells ppvs without GGG. If you take emotions and fanboy dyck licking out of the equation there is no argument to make to justify GGG getting paid 50%. He priced himself out the fight. Even his own promoter negotiated and signed off on the terms for sept its GGG who refused to sign and blew up the deal his own promoter apparently thought was more then fair.
