GGG was UNWILLING to come off his demand of 50-50.

A formal offer has been made to Daniel Jacobs to fight Canelo on Sept. 15th on HBO PPV event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas...

Looking forward to the Canelo/Jacobs fight. That one will generate a lot of interest, except among GGG's crowd. I think the winner should fight Saunders next.

Jacobs is too risky for Canelo with low reward.
Then my offer goes to you as well! $150 its not Spike.

      • If that fight Canelo vs. Jacobs actually gets made, that's a great 2nd option for Canelo to Triple G.

I am skeptical though with GBP. I'll believe it when it's signed, sealed and delivered.

I'm inclined to think Spike may be next in September with Canelo coming off a year layoff. If they somehow do sign for a Jacobs fight, then you definitely give Canelo props for taking that kind of a fight and risk on a year layoff after fighting Triple G last year.

I agree! I like this fight. Im thinking it will probably be a lot like Khan/Canelo. Jacobs will probably outbox Canelo throughout the fight and then one great hit Canelo takes him down and out. Canelo has a GREAT body punch and almost all his combos have at least one. I expect that to slow Jacobs down in the later rounds and then out.

          If had to bet

Jacobs by UD or Canelo by TKO.

Canelo has great head movement and made GGG miss over 500 times. Plus he showed he has a GREAT chin. So dont see a Jacobs TKO unless Canelo is really rusted and sloppy.

Povetkin was the mando. Washington was a replacement for a voluntary (Wawryck). It was a tune up coming off of breaking his hand and tearing his bicep in his right hand/arm.

I think the Wade "mando" fight left a sour taste in a lot of folks mouths. Then it was nobody will fight me so I've got to get this mando out of the way. With Dervy it was well, he probably doesn't want to take short money so lets just find someone else. And Dervy could/should have been approached in March once Alvarez pulled out of the fight.

                  Yep! It's looking good:

                  June 6, 2018:

Hearn, speaking to ESPN from his home in England, said he was pleased to hear from Gomez and hopes to finalize the fight.

"I can tell you that we love the fight," Hearn said. "It's a fight that when I signed Daniel Jacobs he told me he believes he beats Canelo every day of the week. We had a brief conversation with Golden Boy about a week ago or so [when Alvarez-Golovkin negotiations were first on the ropes] and it was hard to tell whether it was part of the plan in the negotiations with Canelo-Golovkin or if they really wanted the fight. We confirmed our interest and today we received an official offer to fight Canelo on Sept. 15.

"I've taken the offer to Keith Connolly, Danny's manager, Danny. We're extremely interested. Obviously, it's a huge fight."

Hearn said he hoped to make the deal quickly and didn't intend on dragging things out.

"It's a first offer and we are not looking to be difficult, but we know our value in the fight," Hearn said. "We have a guy in Daniel Jacobs who, in my opinion, beat Gennady Golovkin but in anybody's opinion had a wonderful fight with Golovkin which many couldn't split. In that respect, I see Jacobs as the perfect guy to fight Canelo.

"This is one of the reasons we signed with HBO -- to get this fight. Now we're here. I will push for every dime for my client. At the same time we realize this is a wonderful opportunity and we'll do everything we can to make this fight. This is a major, major, major fight for Danny Jacobs. We know the money involved in the fight. We believe it does big pay-per-view numbers."

De La Hoya said he hoped to also wrap it up quickly.

"The deadline is going to be middle of this month because we have to start promoting and lock down everything," he said. "Our sponsors are ready to go and we want to give the fight fans the best possible fight, and unfortunately GGG didn't budge from his 50-50, so we're moving on."

                    • If Jacobs is smart he demands no less than 40 percent Canelo can not afford to miss out.
He has to prove he can sell ppv without Mayweather or some name in my opinion.
Now coming off the PED scandal Clenelo Alvarez needs to rebuild his reputation.
