I think 50/50 was totally fair, especially after the first fight was controversial.

Also - I don't think Canelo will fight Jacobs either.

Spike O'Sullivan at MSG is the likely scenario - typical Canelo soft option.

If they don’t fight each other and Canelo fights Jacobs cool I’m down , if he fights Spike then that’s a pile of sh.it and not worth watching , If Gennady fights Saunders , Charlo or Devrechenko Cool if it’s another Vanes then f.uck that also

First there is no way Gennady deserves 50% it’s not happening but Canelo has wasted a year of Gennadys career because his insistence on only fighting on Mexican holidays and because he popped dirty and f.ucked up the rematch , If Gennady took the rematch he’ll probably also lose one of his straps. I would figure a small % increase for Gennady is justifiable because he’s being punished for Canelo at best negligence at worst cheating

they are each other biggest payday by far so it’s not only Gennady losing $ it’ll take Canelo anywhere from 2-4 fights to make the $ he would have made from a Gennady rematch and probably 3-6 fights for Gennady

But whatever if it happens cool if not who cares. I’m sure both will continue to bank many millions for years so it’s not like either are struggling
                Great post that, totally agree.

I’m a fan of both boxers in terms of their ability and love watching them fight but I don’t think either will leave the legacy their skills deserve.

In that respect they both need each other and also as many other high profile, highly competitive fights as they can fit in before the end of their careers if they want to be revered years from now.

I’m sure they’ll both retire rich, be regarded as having had successful careers and are future hof’ers but I don’t think twenty years from now fans will look back on them how we look at hagler, Hearns, Leonard
and Duran. It wasn’t just that they were great fighters, it was that desire they had to take the toughest possible fights and prove themselves to be the best.

                    So keep hating little boy!
Triple g needs Canelo more than Canelo needs Triple g. That's a fact!
So Triple g is one ****** motherfuccer if he let's this payday slip by him... For real!
I was a big fan of that Canelo. Just a kid in boxing terms and had Lara, trout and mayweather on his CV, would take on all comers.

Apart from the obvious financial benefits, becoming the A side is the worst thing that could have happened to him, he’s turning into a cherrypicking, weight manipulating prima Donna.

Straight after the Saunders v Lemieux fight there was a statement from Canelo’s camp saying they had very little interest in fighting him as he runs like Lara and it wouldn’t be entertaining enough for the fans. Even without the PED allegations, this version of Alvarez leaves a sour taste even though I do still respect his ability as a fighter.
I’ll hold my hands up and give him his due if he fights Jacobs and I actually hope i’m wrong but i’ll be surprised if it comes off.
