De La Hoya: Golovkin fight is dead, trying to make Danny Jacobs fight

Jacobs in September and (if Alvarez wins the fight) Saunders in May for the WBO belt, before then (if Alvarez wins) taking on the WBO's top challenger September 2019 (Andrade is the top challenger, but that'd also be a fourth tough fight in a row)Comment

lol, Golovkin just ****ed himself
If Alvarez really does choose to fight a really dangerous guy like Jacobs, Saunders will see that he might get a call too.
Golovkin is going to be forced to fight Derevyanchenko (in a tough fight that he can lose), Jermall Charlo (in a tough fight that he can lose), and the WBA mandatory (depending on what the WBA does, Demetrius Andrade or forcing Murata to unify his regular belt are most likely) before getting another chance to talk the Alvarez fight.
Have fun with thatComment

How can anyone take you seriously? Wasn't it Jacobs that slumped, totally spent in the ring once that final bell sounded? Guess you forgot about the KD as well. Yes, Danny really put the hurt on him that night! Why not just say that Lara whooped Canelo? Perhaps because Canelo won a closely contested fight & Lara was on his back foot all night?
Golovkin can unify or fight his mando & keep his belts if desired btw.
Think I'd lean more towards Canelo as being a fraud myself. Not like he's avoided the fight in the past with a myriad of fake excuses, oh & is currently serving a suspension or anything.
Why should any top contender get in the ring with a known cheater & give them the lion's share? smh. I know if it was me, I'd ensure there was a massive benefit in doing so.
Wish I knew why people constantly like to tear others down, as if it somehow improves their standing? You rise above bro, not the other way around.Something about low hanging fruit & all that...
he's a fraud because for over 5 years hes been saying his dream is to be undisputed yet he's been obsessed and preoccupied with Canelo all this time when he has no belts..
hes a fraud because he called other fighters "businessman" to ridicule them when they chose less risky fights yet he became a businessman when it came to Lara, Ward and recently his mando Derev.
i made a thread long time ago saying his obsessive stalking and ass sniffing of Canelo will backfire.. and here it is.Comment

lil g is a fraud because he played the A side game with Andre Ward and his fanboys loved it.. but now that he's getting treated like a cheap hoe by the A side Canelo they don't like it as much..

If some don't like a fighter because they view them as being hypocritical then there's nothing I can really do to change their mind. They'll always be able to justify this reasoning with anyone, we've all been hypocrites at one time or another. I simply feel there are more important determining factors on how my praise is distributed. There's a lot of posturing everywhere, I try to look at the big picture & see the underlying character rather than get caught up on the he said-she said.
I do take exception to some things that keep being repeated though, such as;
1- Calling SDchenko a "mandatory" when he was never ordered yet, no contract & was on short notice. That's just unreasonable to me.
2- He offered Andre 50-50 in-the-middle, that's hardly playing A-side. 65-35 though is.
3- I agree he's allowed Canelo to dictate terms & has stagnated his career. I'd much prefer him to fight BJS next.
4- Never hear me say that GGG is perfect or has done everything I'd like ALL the time. However by all appearances he's always tried to prove himself & that's all I require as a fan.Comment

Hearn just confirmed to ESPN what Oscar said, that they have received a official offer from golden boy to fight Canelo. GGG phuked up big time pricing himself out. Will be stuck fighting high risk low reward mandatories for peanuts. LMAO
http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...talks-collapse
"We had a brief conversation with Golden Boy about a week ago or so [when Alvarez-Golovkin negotiations were first on the ropes] and it was hard to tell whether it was part of the plan in the negotiations with Canelo-Golovkin or if they really wanted the fight. We confirmed out interest and today we received an official to fight Canelo on Sept. 15.
"I've taken the offer to Keith Connolly, Danny's manager, Danny. We're extremely interested. Obviously, it's a huge fight."
Hearn said he hoped to make the deal quickly and didn't intend on dragging things out.Comment

That's alright! Danny Jacobs vs Canela will make less money than Oscar payed out for the fish net stocking photo's!Comment

Some might give reasons why things didn't happen, others tend to see them as excuses.

“It would’ve been a bad deal to take,” Loeffler said via the latimes.com. “If the pay-per-view for the Lemieux fight is what we think it should be, Gennady would deserve more than 50% against Ward, considering Ward has barely fought outside of California. So it’s unreasonable to ask us to commit to that right now.”
it was wards side who proposed 50-50..and golovkins team balkedComment

Actually Ward agreed to the 50-50 split just not the weight. Andre wanted 60%.
"My situation is much better. [I want] 50-50 money, 50-50 weight, 50-50 situation. This is logic, 50-50." -Golovkin
“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense. GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder [at] 164 [and] a 50-50 split on all proceeds." -Loeffler
"He wanted 50-50 and I said give it to him. I'm not going to argue about ten percent." - Ward
This never goes anywhere, just round-n-round. I've moved past it & accepted for what it is. Just poor timing. One year earlier or later it probably would of happened.Comment
