Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought just once in 2017, but the retired superstar still made more money last year than any other athlete in the world. According to Forbes, Mayweather made $275 million from his pay-per-view extravaganza against Conor McGregor and an additional $10 million in endorsements.

The most boring, risk averse boxer of all-time is the world's highest paid athlete. Smh. Sugar Ray Robinson is rolling over in his grave and Sugar Ray Leonard is cursing that he was born 20 years too early.

This wasn't all about sport. It was also entertainment. It was part sport, part pro wrestling sort of appeal.

Yup, that's been the case for him for most of his career. In the endorsement world, nice guys definitely do finish first.
