  • Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: I Plan To Stay at 135 For a 'Couple of Years'

During his in-studio visit to 'the 3 Knockdown Rule' with Mario Lopez last Friday, WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) stated that his preference was to plant his flag for a bit at 135, after winning titles in three weight divisions in just a dozen fights.

If he wants to unify and fight the top dogs at 135 I can't do nothing but respect that.

135 looks about as much as he’ll comfortably go. Good call. He’s 30 years old and moved up a few times in the last few years and I wasnt even sure he’d stick around 135 for long unless it was for Mikey and Linares or another champ. Figured hed go back down if he didnt get Linares/Mikey back to back. Theres some odd matchups for him at 35 and young guys who are going to move up soooner rather than later at a crack at him or Mikey

Smart decision! Mikey should be the target! Beltran and Easter Jr. are side-pieces! That being said, I don't think Mikey stays at 135 for too much longer!

Yes, protect your body all the time. No need to fight those big cheaters.

hopefully he can become undisputed, the fights are all there to be made.
