Yep. The State and Fed authorities are running their own racketeering scandal and it's called running the prison network that costs tens of billions of dollars every year.

Does it cost more if they give felons more money and longer sentences?
    You bet.

    Who pays for all that?
    The taxpayer.

    What are those costs?
Staffing, food, equipment, cleaning, security, admin, medical services. Most of it contracted out.

Is it competitive to get those contracts?
    Yep.

Is their a shortcut to getting the contracts?
Dang right - nothing that a few bribes won't sort out.

There'll be guys in prison who know nothing about boxing or him. Because of his size they'll pick on him and instantly wish that they hadn't.

His boxing training will serve him well in prison, at least until he starts getting really old. But he'll be there for likely 10-20 years.
It will. He'll lose significant muscle mass but the skills will still be there.

Haha. You reckon? Trump might find a place for him on his legal team and ask him pay a courtesy visit to Mueller.

Just one more way of siphoning public funds into private pockets, man. Business as usual.

goes without saying but he should have stuck to the boxing, esp when he was on the cusp of a title shot

40 years is a hell of a lot. It's probably an excessive sentence imposed to force him into a bargain to rat out his mafia buddies. Whatever happens though, his boxing career is finished, and just as he was on the cusp of a shot at the top level. It'd be a shame if he hadn't brought it on himself. Crime doesn't pay if you get caught.
