Well the money is up there which is why its noteworthy in my book. Every fan talks about legacy more than money, but every retired fighter I see talks about money more than legacy.
And people keep saying Canelo needs this fight more, but I don't see it. Canelo's boxing legacy could be made in a series of epci bouts with this new kid Jaime Munguia 3 years from now.
But the point is Canelo gots plenty of time to make his legacy still. I'd even argue if he beats an old GGG that doesn't look all that good is that helping his legacy at all?
Plus I still agree with the draw despite the card making it a draw being f#cking nuts. The fight was evenly contested in my book & a draw was within the margin of error as I saw the fight. For full disclosure I think I had it a draw or 1 point one guys way, but lotsa close rounds in this fight.Comment

Cross your fingers and legs. GGG needs to move on from Cheatnelo... It will be there in 2019. Unless they can come 60/40 or 55/45... GGG needs to be compensated more. Since Cinnamon failed, renig, and rsuspended... GBP needs to give a little more... PPV buys will make up any loses... More enough money to make sure the "tainted" meat es no en estomago de Canelo...Comment

I think Canelo really has no options for big money other than Golovkin. We have seen already Oscar has been lying about contacting other fighters. Oscar isn’t gonna put Canelo in with a real threat with little return and that’s why spike will be fighting Canelo unless they do the 50/50. The biggest issue is who is Alvarez going to fight? Saunders ,maybe for a title. He might not win. Who else? ODH has steered Alvarez from the best fighters at 154 for years. Is he going to fight Andrade, Jermall C, Jacobs? I doubt it. So there are only C rated fighters like Spike or welters like Peterson or Mattysee. They aren't PPV worthy. Red and ODH needs GGG, as much as he needs them, for maximum profits. Remember even though Alvarez has the big ego and ODH acts like he is the Champion, he is obviously not. Yes, GGG position has changed and he can make demands considering Canelo has no where to go.Comment

Talking about business. With Canelo making zero money in May and making a lot less in September against someone other than Golovkin, GBP will start to be in serious financial problems. ODH just lost his two most important champions Ali and Linares. They both lost their titles last month. Making a 50/50 deal with GGG may be the only way he keeps Golden Boy out of BKR.Comment

The WBC, WBA, and IBF have an agreement to rotate their mandatory defenses. Golovkin-Alvarez was the WBC's mandatory. The IBF was next but since it made sense for everyone (with everyone also getting paid), they chose to wait on calling their mandatory to facilitate making Golovkin-Alvarez 2.
The WBC can't simply have two mandatory defenses straight away, unless they'd simply swear off the rotation system that may actually clear things up for the sport.Comment
