Comments Thread For: Hearn is Not Ruling Out Dillian Whyte vs. Luis Ortiz Eliminator

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is not ruling out the idea of a WBC eliminator between heavyweights Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz. BoxingScene.com recently reported that Epic Sports and Entertainment won an IBF mandated purse bid, to stage a final eliminator between Whyte and Kubrat Pulev. The unexpected promotional player was able to outbid Hearn (representing Whyte) and Team Sauerland (repping Pulev).

eddie knows Pulev will outbox his ****ty fighter all night long in Sofia, eddie was outsmarted this time so he is now looking for a way out thinking maybe he can lure Ortiz in the UK... that would bring the same result for Whyte though, really there is not much quality about him, he is limited, AJ has exposed him already.

However, the winning purse bid was $1,500,111 - and Whyte is only getting 25% of that take, while Pulev receives 75%.

Between the IBF's mandated split of the purse, and the contest taking place in Pulev's backyard, Whyte and Hearn may very well explore the amount of compensation involved in facing Ortiz.

Broke MOFO this Hearns is! haha! Wheres that billionaire streaming service money from DAZN?! Cant even win a purse-bid for Dillian Shyte after he sparked that punch-bag Lucas Browne in the UK! Mismatchroom is a joke promotion!

He literally just said he will go and fight Ortiz if the reward is first mandatory.

Don't blame them if they go Pulev instead, blame the corrupt WBC.

Interesting that as soon as control of the venue and purse slips out of his grasp he becomes super interested in the other option he didn’t want to know before. He should just bite the bullet and take the Pulev fight, at least Whyte has a shot at winning and probably finishes on his feet even if he loses. Ortiz KOs him.

Dillian may not fight either and instead we see a rematch with AJ after he fights Povetkin.

He should, nobody expects him to win anyways.

Yes, Dillian Shyte doesn't even need this IBF eliminator.

Didn't realise Whyte was only getting 25% of the split between himself and Pulev.

I'd like to see Whyte take on Ortiz; would be a much more fun fight than Pulev knowing he just has to jab his way to a win in Sofia
