We people don’t seem to get is that Chocolatito’s Promoter,
K2 Promotions managing director Tom Loeffler, had just started to agree to work with Al Hayman. Everyone knows Hayman was the advisor to Mayweather.

In 2016, Chocolatito was the pound for pound king at 46-0. He just came off a great 12 round fight against Carlos Cuadras. Loeffler was going to set up the rematch with Cuadras and then he started dealing with Haymon. And I believe Haymon interfered and advised Loeffler to set up the fight with Wsaksil Wangek. Styles make fights and I believe this was a bad match up for Chocolatito.

I also believe Hayman interfered to help Mayweather get to 49-0 first. If the match with Cuadras was set up, it’s 47-0 and maybe the match with Wangek never happens. And maybe he gets to 49-0 with a couple other fights. I just think they set him up to fail in the end.

This is good for Choc and good for boxing. I'm glad there are some cautious measures in place to protect these boxers. The 1 thing that stood out to me though was why did they wait until now to announce this and put the suspension in place? I found that a bit odd and wonder if it means maybe there is a problem with him. I don't recall reading announcements of other boxers being suspended pending further testing at any point let alone a half year after their loss. Either way, I wish he would retire.

He was an amazing boxer and he put on a hell of a show every time he got in the ring. But he can't stay at this weight and survive and neither he nor his camp seem open to going back down in weight at all. He also doesn't seem to be able to take a punch anymore. It happens in boxing, you can only be in so many wars before it starts to catch up to you regardless if you were the one winning. He's been hit a lot and seems like he can't absorb the punches anymore. At that point, it just becomes dangerous for the boxer.

Great boxer, great champion, one of the good guys in the sport and I loved watching him. But my hope is he hangs it up and enjoys his life with his family. Regardless, he's an easy guy to root for, in or out of the ring, and that's what I will continue to do.

30 years old isn’t considered prime at the lower weight divisions. Also moving up from minimumweight to superfly is quite substantial as 10 pounds is almost 10% of your body mass at the lower weights. You’re bound to hit a ceiling moving up, that’s similar to saying duran wasn’t special because of his fight with Hearn. Idk what norton has to do with your argument, he’s an atg who only ever competed at heavy. I’m not sure your post has merit

Anyone ever consider that being a world champ at 115lbs is far harder than being a heavyweight champ. Most of the world's male population probably weighs south of 130lbs.

He may indeed have damage, but him being required to get test done does not = "his brain is gone".
Seems like this forum has become flooded with casual trash lately.
It's actually the article creator who wants to create that controversy.

I'm not a chocolatito fan but he was once a great fighter. I dont care what a worthless bum like you says. Laughing cause another fighter gets hurt only reflects the type of coward and idiot you are.

I keep seeing Andre Berto for CUCKnaddy and not Ca$h, Charlo, or Sergiy.

                  How odd is that?

Ca$h fights TripleCUCK or BJS September - my man !

Chocolatito's Prime was at 105-112. By the time he was 115, he already was past it. Little guys turn into their primes by the time their 21-22 because they are being force to fight the murderers row in their division the moment they show a sign of promise.

Nailed it. Only thing strange to me about this is how long there was between the fight and the suspension. Choc was even scheduled to fight earlier this month.
