He was never a defensive guru, but he's gotten walloped over the last couple of years.

This place makes me sad. Are people not aware that fighters in both boxing and MMA receive suspensions following KO losses and that they often must get exams done before being cleared? There's nothing unusual about this but we have morons posting things like "it's over", "punch drunk".
He may indeed have damage, but him being required to get test done does not = "his brain is gone".
Seems like this forum has become flooded with casual trash lately.
gonzales is one of the oldest 30 year olds you are ever going to see. he's been getting beat up in victory and defeat for a while now. the guy was never hard to find. i have no doubts that he is compromised from the damage he took.
i don't like that people didn't read the article either, but there is still the reality that the guy is nowhere near as good as he used to be from all of the punishment. he was the best fighter on the planet for a time.Comment

Oh now I see, I feel so ******. I apologize buddy before we started going back and fourth I didn't realize you had a mental handicap. Please forget about anything I said buddy I didn't mean to be so angry I was just joking around. Best of luck to you. Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do anything.Comment

Name 5 HOF he fought and beat??? Ok then. He was average at best. His defense was/is absolutely terrible. You can be a HOF and #1 with some of the worse defense in boxing period.you butt hurt that people recognized gonzalez's greatness aren't you? he was number 1 on every pound for pound list so you better get over it. he's a certified hall of famer who reached the top of his sport and brought a spotlight on the lower weight classes no one can deny that.Comment

Are you ****ing kidding me?
Dude, dominated 2 divisions until he got too old and went up too far in weight. That can happen to anybody, especially smaller fighters who age in dog years
I keep saying this. I said he looked like an old Muhammad Ali before the 2nd Rugvisai fight happened. Like something is missing behind the eyes.
Gonzalez was past his prime as well. He's 30 in a division where 23 is your prime.Just one of many who have claimed the p4p list temporarily. Great fighters in their prime don't get knocked out in 4 rounds the way he did. Now Holmes was blasted in 4 but he was way past his prime. Don't worry man your ignorance shows in almost every post you make. Bye
Agreed. Do you know of any other forums that aren't quite as trollish or have better moderators?I agree wholeheartedly. It seems with every fight this place gets worse and worse. The worst kind of casuals are overflowing the site. Nutthuggers/haters who are fans of few men but hate on everything else. Toxic.
The reason I’m phasing out of the site now. Any intelligent discussion and the idiots try to derail it with nonsense and agendas.
How many HOFs are there for him to beat?
He was a buzzsaw who rolled throw everybody until he got old and moved up too far in weight.Comment

No. I am a member of two private Facebook sites that are invite only and ban trolls/nutthuggers and haters pretty swiftly. All good adult boxing discussion with minimal/no disrespect/childish outbursts. Are you ****ing kidding me?

There’s quality here but it’s drowned out but garbage. Those pages is where you’ll find better discussion and more intelligent level headed discussion and respect to the sport, fighters and each other. This site is all about who was “exposed”, who’s a “bum” (always a fighter with a loss or one they dislike) and it’s always about “ducking”. That’s the hot topic here - ducking. It’s like it’s full of teenagers with mental illnesses.Last edited by chrisJS; 05-31-2018, 05:53 PM.Comment

He was never the best fighter on the planet mostly because of what you just stated. The guy was getting beat up even in his wins was taking a lot of damage and now it's finally caught up with him. It doesn't matter what sport you are in if you don't start preserving yourself once u get to about 27 28 by 30+ you'll break down much quicker.gonzales is one of the oldest 30 year olds you are ever going to see. he's been getting beat up in victory and defeat for a while now. the guy was never hard to find. i have no doubts that he is compromised from the damage he took.

There are great chances that Estrada-Rungvisai might end up in the HOF. This place make me sick whenever I see comments about Roman Gonzalez. Chocolatito had beaten fighters with 5+ defenses, elite counter punchers, elite punchers, elite movers and defeated all of them except Rungvisai who IMO he beat in the first fight but still got called a hype job.Are you ****ing kidding me?

There is no doubt that Roman Gonzalez should be in the inside the top 5 ATG small weight fighters.Comment

youve no doubt noticed so called boxing fans passing judgments on guys without there ever being a failed test and then saying tests dont mean shlt. putting a fighter in a no win situation with said ''fans''This place makes me sad.
