Was looking forward to seeing him fight this summer. Sucks that December is the earliest we'll see him. Hopefully that throws off a Pacquaio fight though and he can just stick to 135. He'll dominate that division for the next 4-5 years.

I just hope he will return 100% the same. Take your time to fully recover, champ.

He could beat Beltran with one arm that should be his comeback fight for the shoulder to heal completely

I'm happy Loma could return this year.

I think Ray Beltran is a great comeback opponent. Unification bout against a top 5 of the division.

So does Beltran fight a live dog before December? This is the WBO's Top Lightweights:

                1. Roman Andreev
                2. Nihito Arakawa
                3. Carlos Diaz Ramirez
                4. Antonio Moran
                5. Isa Chaniev
                6. Pavel Malikov
                7. Kye Mackenzie
                7. Kye Mackenzie
                8. Ryan Martin
                9. Paulus Moses
                10. Richard Commey

I'd like to see Beltran vs. Martin (22-0, 12 KOs).

as with a baseball pitcher and Rehab after surgery... looking at 6 months... he's the one most people want to see fight because he fights anyone not like the Fraud... I doubt Belcher on will fight unless it's a taxi driver that's driving him to 1 of his workouts...

Should fan be worried that the doctor didn't say "full recovery"? Seemed like he was choosing his word carefully. "Excellent prognosis" rather than saying full recovery. "Back to his previous level of performance," rather than saying "full recovery," as if the doctor is sort of covering a bit, like, "well he was the best out there even with this injury going on, so when he recovers from surgery, it at least won't be any worse than that, even though he will never make a 100% recovery."

Or, maybe Im just being pessimistic. I know nothing about these injuries. Get well soon Loma! Loma was one of the few in boxing who actually brought the sport back to life the last few years after the May/Pac era nearly buried the sport for good (though no fault of Pacquiao's, so you do the math who else it could have been). If he can't come back, stay healthy, and keep fighting at the same level, it will be a gigantic blow to the sport. Imagine if Pacquiao had gotten a career altering injury right before the De La Hoya fight, for instance, and we never got to see what happened after that. If Loma can't stay healthy, this could be of similar impact to what that would have been, adjusted for age. Longevity wise, we wouldn't be missing out on as many years carrying the sport, but over the next few years, it would absolutely be as if we'd lost the same number of years at that point in Pacquiao's career. It's hard to even fathom because Pacquiao then, like Loma now, was one of the only bright spots in the sport, one of the few actually contributing to boxing, treating boxing like an actual sport, and offering fans great matchups on paper and great fights in the ring, the magical combo that has been mostly lost in American boxing since RJJ and Floyd started teaching the next (and now current) generation of American boxers that ducking is a good thing, not a bad thing.
