Suliman needs to get off his knees and wipe his face. I was excited to hear about them enforcing the Charlo mandatory, but now seeing the rationale and corruption behind it taints it.

65/35 split on 5/5/18.... Yeah, but wasn't your fighting using PED? Twice?!? Wasn't your fighter suspended? Didn't your fighter cancel the fight?
Canelo did all this. So GGG must pay for your mistakes? 50/50 split is fair. Canelo cost everyone a lucrative payday; he caused all this with his unknowingly ingestion of tainted meat.
"Honey, I didn't know what happened. My penis fell into her vagina... Honey, I'm sorry but his penis slipped into my mouth..." GBP stop with the BS... 50/50 or no rematch....Comment

GGG: I don't want to fight Canelo, I want to fight Vanes again
WBC: nope..... either you fight Canelo, or you fight Charlo
GGG: ok, I will fight Canelo

Golovkin balks at the deal, and Alvarez moves on to likely fight Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO belt (if he makes it through his fight with no issue) or Daniel Jacobs in September.
If Alvarez beats Saunders, he emerges as the champion of the WBO, the only organization not formally in the mandatory rotation with the WBC/WBA/IBF.
Unification trumps mandatory, but imagine what the split would be then, with Alvarez now having Golovkin's last belt after already getting 70% of the pot the first time.Comment

Interesting. What you reckon MCC?
I suppose if Golovkin chose therefore he could indeed attempt to force the purse bid if this report is accurate In fact the argument could be made that that's exactly what they're attempting to do with the 50% demand. In theory it's the only way they could get out of the Canelo fight whilst retaining the title. If he didn't want to fight Canelo on a principled stance yet wanted to attempt to retain the title it would seem to be the only way.
EDIT: Of course Canelo's ban may have changed the situation - hard to claim that a banned fighter is anyone's mandatory. In that case though the WBC should immediately have ordered the Charlo fight next (when in fact they reportedly told Jermall not to press the issue) and certainly should not have allowed the IBF mando situation to proceed. In not doing so they have accepted de facto that they have waived Golovkin's mando obligation. Either way trying to retroactively order GGG to fight their mando when he already has an obligation to the IBF is clearly unreasonable.
So is the rematch still a mandated fight or not? And whether it is or it isn't, like you say, the WBC should most definitely not be ordering GGG to fight Charlo at this point. If not Canelo, then Dervy is the next mando in line.
It's time for Loeffler to stop acting like a back office accountant, step up and demand some explanations from the WBC about these inconsistancies.Last edited by kafkod; 05-30-2018, 08:56 AM.Comment
