The original poster asks the valid question whether GGG deserves 50% of the cut from the stand point of what each fighter generates. I must answer no (even considering what GGG brings non-financially, like belts, and the other saga).

I'd say 40% is a fair compensation this one time. I was actually surprised GBP even offered him 35% in the first place. If the sides can't agree, they can just STFU. That's my opinion, anyway, on this shitty story!

I don't care for the rematch. The first one didn't wow me much.
If they can't agree then let them move on. My take:

Golovkin should not get 50/50. I do not think they actually believe they would get that. This was a starting point.

The last agreement was 65/35 Canelo. If I am not mistaken 5% more than the first fight.

Canelo resulted in the cancellation of the rematch. He did cost Golovkin money.

If Canelo came back with a 5% increase vs. the 35% I think that would be fair and reasonable. 60/40%. I think if Golovkin came back with 55/45% that is not unreasonable. Maybe somewhere in between 40-45% could be worked out. I really think at end of day Golovkin would take that.

GBP seemed to run out the door and not want to even discuss 50/50, or are they more likely saying nothing above 35%, I tend to think right now they are saying nothing above 35%.

But we will see, there is still time. If someone blinks first I would think it is Golovkin. Coming down to 45% to start negotiations. I do not think Canelo is in as good a position as they may think. But that is just me.

But if they can't get something settled in next week or two at most move on. Just another pathetic chapter in boxing. A sport intent on killing itself at least in the States.

Good luck selling that much again as is.
GGG can barely do 100k without canelo

In no way does GGG deserve a 50/50 split. Lol at anyone defending this blatant duck

Let's see how well Canelo PPVs do when boxing fans know he refused the GGG rematch after testing dirty (aka refusing to fight him without PEDs). Some fans will still pay to see him, but many will not.
Spike will be easy work for canelo

Agreed, which is why Canelo's team will seek him out over Charlo, GGG, BJS, Jacobs, etc.

Typical GGG hater. When faced with a reasonable argument, you pivot to an emotional outburst and try to get me in my feelings like you are. And considering how much you talk about him, any psychologist would conclude you're much more likely to get a hard on from him than i. Like I said, you have a problem...you need help, like much of your fellow haters.

My only issue with that is GBP wants to use the same exact deal they used BEFORE he got busted. Since february, quite a bit has changed. Keeping that same exact deal in place since all that has transpired since then would be idiotic.

They can't just go about things like nothing happened or like Canelo got hurt. 60/40 is fair. If GGG wins, he can demand 50/50. Not until then though.

And to be clear, I wasnt calling YOU idiotic. I was talkin about GBP's way of doing business.
