If they can't agree then let them move on. My take:
Golovkin should not get 50/50. I do not think they actually believe they would get that. This was a starting point.
The last agreement was 65/35 Canelo. If I am not mistaken 5% more than the first fight.
Canelo resulted in the cancellation of the rematch. He did cost Golovkin money.
If Canelo came back with a 5% increase vs. the 35% I think that would be fair and reasonable. 60/40%. I think if Golovkin came back with 55/45% that is not unreasonable. Maybe somewhere in between 40-45% could be worked out. I really think at end of day Golovkin would take that.
GBP seemed to run out the door and not want to even discuss 50/50, or are they more likely saying nothing above 35%, I tend to think right now they are saying nothing above 35%.
But we will see, there is still time. If someone blinks first I would think it is Golovkin. Coming down to 45% to start negotiations. I do not think Canelo is in as good a position as they may think. But that is just me.
But if they can't get something settled in next week or two at most move on. Just another pathetic chapter in boxing. A sport intent on killing itself at least in the States.
