I'd be interested in seeing where this goes, but I have to be honest. This looks doomed for failure.

And even taking into account w/e PBC is currently Haymon isn't doing his job as a manager if his fighters are receiving offers for more money & similar or better future opponents & not advising his fighters that that could be the superior deal for them as it would seem to be for a % of Haymon managed fighters.
Why he's not going after a fighter like Kovalev is beyond me.
But I am sure there are guys who are free agents or near free agent status that Hearn will be picking up this year if the money is as good as advised cuz this DAZN thing would seem like a decent enough opportunity for most boxers on the cusp of the big time, but behind the old heads that TV channels don't like pushing out of the way too soon exactly either.Comment

Randomly what makes a $125M a year deal to put on the best shows in US boxing over the next 8 years doomed for failure?
As long as people still like money & fans still like boxing this seems like a long term plan to print money if they keep being as aggressive as they been & catching fire in new areas like they have been.
If by this time next year we aren't seeing a sh^tton of DAZN ads in every marketplace trying to get people to flip to the "Netflix of Sports" then yea it might not be looking as up as it does right now, but this is a burn money long term plan thats supposed to take awhile to succeed anyway.
Took Amazon 9, 10 years to have a profit. I wouldn't be surprised, if this is a success, if it takes 5+ years before they are out of the red.Comment

Hearn is going to have to SIGNIFICANTLY overpay these fighters if he wants them to join DAZN. If he pay is close they will just stick with Haymon and showtimeComment

As of right now fighters already fighting on Showtime do not want to be perceived as a Judas.
However having said that Eddie doesn’t exactly endear himself to his American competitors. Quotes such as i want to have the biggest and most vast stable or I don’t want to make the mistake like PBC is hardly going to charm the guy you actually need to massage his ankles in order to guarantee quality fights throughout the weight categories.
Fans are fickle. Including myself. You better believe if Errol Spence is fighting on Dazn I am buying it. Likewise with most of ones favourite fighters
I'll be watching this transition with very curious eyes & a very curious mind cuz it'll be highly interesting watch what I believe is destined more or less happen slowly, but surely over some undetermined period of time from a couple years to behind a decade.Comment

We'll see though. (In a perfect world, Eddie Hearn joins the Haymon orbit, Showtime/CBS keeps their end of the premium content, and Matchroom Sport USA takes over the rest of the PBC deal from Fox Sports for DAZN, with BounceTV keeping their four shows)
Although maybe this time next year CBS will throw some $3B 10 year deal at Haymon & I'll look like a dummy & you'll look like a genius for sticking to your guns. I'm definitely betting against that going down doe, but tides have changed a bit with boxing since PBC has been around so who knows what the tide looks like 12 mos from now & maybe Haymon will be the one to maximize his upside of this by then idk.Comment
