If he was to beat Ortiz he'd become 2nd mandatory to Wilder's belt after Breazeale. He could be left in the cold a good while.
They messed him around no doubt after first saying Breazeale/Molina wasn't an eliminator.
If he could get a quicker title shot as well as a healthier payday going the IBF route, I wouldn't blame him.

I think they're both tough fights for him. But yeah, I'd imagine he'd rather face Pulev than Ortiz. If that's a duck, then cool. I can see why people would say that.
He's faced Joshua though and chased the Wilder fight, I think he will fight whoever is necessary when it comes down to it .

      Hearn is not Whyte’s promoter?

Whyte’s own promoter lowballed because he had no interest in promoting the fight. Because he cares about Whyte only as a pawn on the chess board to protect AJ aka Tony Johnson or whatever it is they’re calling him now.

Hearn bid big money to promote AJ against Pulev, right? Why not throw enough to win this bid to support Whyte and give him a bigger payday?

Why not. Because Whyte means nothing to him.

How does Ortiz not count? Who do you think is better than Ortiz that Wilder isn't fighting or ducking. I know you don't have an answer because you like to make fanboy statements.

What happened to the $1 billion Hearn has? This would have been a good fight for his new platform.

            It's 50/50 split

2nd in line not first mandatory. Breazeale is the mandatory. Also according to Wilder, Whyte is going to be made to wait for as long as possible before being given his shot even if he beats Ortiz. I don't really give him much of a chance against Ortiz, I think he'll get knocked out. So if all goes to plan for Wilder, Whyte probably won't see his shot till 2020.

If I were Whyte I'd go a different route to a title shot too, not because I was scared or ducking, but because I could potentially get a title much sooner. That's not cowardice that's just using your brain, because at the end of that tunnel is a guy who already brutally knocked him out.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember Whyte and Hearn coming out to say they'd fight Ortiz if it was a final eliminator to get a shot immediately given his number 1 contender spot. Hence the law suit against the WBC to get that. Doesn't really make sense to go to court and spend all that money if you don't want that fight.

The WBC are the bad guys from what I see. Personally I'd rather see Ortiz Vs Whyte then Whyte Vs Wilder than a bum like breazeale Vs Wilder.

Again I don't think Whyte is really any threat to Wilder, I see a 3rd or 4th round KO more brutal than the Joshua one. I just don't like the shady business that the WBC seems to be getting up to.

                  My ideal schedule would be

                  Wilder Vs Joshua in USA

Joshua Vs Wilder rematch in UK

Wilder Vs ( Ortiz Vs Whyte) winner

                  Joshua Vs Fury

Winner of both last fights Vs each other.

                  That'd be the ideal solution.

I think it's pretty obvious he's not his promoter, look what Hearn said after he been Browne 'worst performance ever', if that's his promoter I'd like to hear what is haters have to say.

He has promoted him in the past, but I'm pretty sure no one cares about the paperwork anymore or there isn't any now.

Wow so the billion dollar company lost a purse bid??? Oh well at least Dillian will get the AJ rematch after he wins or if he wins. Still wanted to see him face Ortiz.
