How did Jacobs get to the point where he's chasing Charlo?

GGG and Canelo have unfinished business, so Jacobs calling them out now would be a waste of time.

Also, Jacobs isn't a big draw and get big paydays fighting B level guys like Canelo and GGG can.

So at least Jacobs is going after the next best challenge. Seems like everyone else is just be sitting around and waiting for a Canelo or GGG payday to be handed to them.

It looked like that to me too, i saw their confrontation and it doesn't look like Jacobs is backing down from Charlo. And if Charlo is ranked high then why wouldn't he be of interest to Jacobs? If he beats Charlo he takes him out of the equation for GGG and Canelo. Thats what rivals do eliminate the competition.

I specifically remember after the fight HBO saying they were impressed with Jacobs and wanted to see more of him on their chanel. A couple months later he signed a contract with them. That's how much momentum he had after that fight

Oh, because Charlo has had some very good knockouts. Everybody loves those so he has good buzz behind him now. Popularity wise, they're probably pretty close.
